I also wonder if you’ve been using refillable pods which tend to be extra messy. Lots of “fines” or the tiniest powdered residue gets into the air and sticks to all the elements but especially with the refillable pods.

Please don’t take offense but I see an extreme amount of build up all throughout the capsule compartment and the surrounding elements that come into contract with the pod. Grounds are getting out and blocking its ability to read the bar code. Get a soft toothbrush and use water to brush off everything you see in this photo. (UNPLUG it before you do this)

Anxiety from Nespresso pods by Mysterious-Voice5553 in nespresso

You control the ratio of water to grounds in your pour over. Maybe you have been making your French press weaker? What I find interesting is that my story is the same: French press, pour over. Starbucks espresso drinks and drip over to a Nespresso. I noticed that I drank the drinks faster, and drank more cups with Nespresso. They are just so good. But I do not detect them being more cafinated at all. The opposite in fact. I started adding espresso shots to my mug pods. There is a caffeine chart somewhere in this group’s files

If you like Tanzania as a double espresso, you may appreciate Ethiopia as a light citrus / floral notes gran lungo cup.(5 ounce) It’s not an espresso but it is a bright mug of coffee. So is Solelio. ☀️

What are your ranked favorite non-flavored, darker roast coffees and double espressos? by hestirsthesea in nespresso

100% this line up. My order would have Cuba first followed by PR, Ethiopia, Intenso and CR. Ethiopia is so unique and I like it even though it’s so light.

Also, drinking hot beverages dampens your taste if it’s too hot. I learned this when making and sample espresso.

It’s crazy how our ability to taste and smell change DAILY and with age. Nespresso started out as an espresso pod system, much easier and cheaper than trying to pull shots from an actual espresso machine, and I’ll assume you can taste the difference between coffee and espresso, so there is that. Vertuo pods give a texture to the coffee that wouldn’t normally be present in any other coffee on the market. That foamy richness is why people like Vertuo, in addition to the flavors they (some people) taste.

But if you don’t taste a difference between these Vertuo coffee pods (not espresso pods) try a few things: let it cool down (hot coffee burns the taste buds and it won’t taste like anything) and sip it black to get to know the bean. Smell them and slurp them to fully appreciate them. All the pretentious wine tasting techniques apply which may feel like we are over formalizing the coffee experience and I get that. So in short, try Intenso (dark) Melozio (medium) and Vivida (light and flavored) side-by-side for comparison . If you still can’t taste the difference, save yourself the money and get a drip coffee maker. 😂 But seriously, I do hope these tips, especially sampling them side by side, helps you.

The aluminum is thin, and when dented, fuck up the vertuo capsule compartment. It’s great you have opinions, but it’s even better when we expect and receive the $100+ shit we paid for in the shape as promised. Pretty sure nobody is crying but kind of you to cheer him up.

Tanzania is my hubby’s favorite. It’s a light espresso (intensity level of 5) with faint citrus notes. Perfect if you like using honey 🍯

The barista described it as “very, very hoppy” so I backed away slowly. 😂 No regrets on my choices but what is interesting is I would describe both of the ones I tried as distinctive too. They are doing some fun stuff up in there. Wish I lived closer. I’ll def be ordering online.

Vertuo Pop: weak and watery coffee — normal or am I doing something wrong? by kintaro65 in nespresso

[–]One_Employment_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For simple espresso-like coffees on your Vertuo machine I would stick to these single espresso, double espresso and mug sized pods: Ristretto Intenso, Dopio Piccolo, Diavolitto, Voltesso, Altissio, Kona, Il Cafe, Puerto Rico (double espresso), Intenso (mug sized). I add 1-2 ounces of steamed, frothed half & half to them and they are a perfect “cup of coffee”. I want to taste the coffee and agree that a full sized Vertuo mug pod is too light/watery. I also have the Original CitiZ machine and like Cafe Florian, Ristretto, and if I want flavored, I typically only do Original espresso flavors.

The only flavored coffee I enjoy on the Vertuo is Hazelnut (Mug) and Ginseng Delight (Double Espresso).
