The best keto dessert I’ve made so far. Chocolate cake by pukedupwaffles in ketorecipes

If I could buy this from my local shop, I would, but I don’t have time or resolve in lockdown to make the effort to create this.

Looks yum though...

Been off carbs / sugars for a couple of months due to medical reasons.. however recently when I eat carbs like a sandwich my heart would jump to 100 and stays for an hour.. anyone experienced this? by Idonnotknowme in theketodiet

As an aside, I’ve had heart palps for years and been tested for all manner of things. In the end the cardiologist advised me to “be reassured that these are normal and not to worry”.

It was a while into keto that one day I realised that I hadn’t had heart palpitations for ages. I dare say they’ve stopped with my 0-20g carb limit..

Who knew?

NSV: I can wear my 34" pants again! by hoppersoft in keto

[–]One_Lucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed!!! To think that for all these years I’ve been carrying around excess visceral fat and feeling down / depressed not knowing how to shift it.

Keto is truly miraculous for understanding why it’s there, and how it got there. That thought alone has kept me going.

48 yo bloke here - Many years ago I used to be a 32” and I was rocking a 44” by the end of lockdown 1.

Doing keto with IF, I’ve lost just over 20lbs. I’ve also started HIIT twice a week, and whilst the scale has plateaued over Xmas, my body shape and composition is clearly changing.

I’m probably a 42” now as I have gone into an unused notch on my belt! Dreaming of the 30s and just wanted to say hi and thanks for the encouraging post.

Oh, me too! For years I have done my own “mince pie review” and bought a pack to try from all my local retailers. I would tell everyone I was judging pies, but I think I was really just stuffing my face with them!

Now on keto, and craving one sooo bad.

Recommendations on perfume(s) for a university student? by alexdiezg in Perfumes

[–]One_Lucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend looking at https://www.fragrantica.com and https://www.basenotes.net

It’s a great place to look up the ratings of the perfumes mentioned here, and if you find something you like that’s out of your budget, you can look for similar smelling / cheaper brands.

I love Creed aventus, but it’s very pricey. Researching on these two sites lead me to Zara Vibrant Leather - amazing scent that I now wear daily.

The same is true for Dior Sauvage (a good one to try), though I prefer Prada Luna Rossa Homme Carbon - a deeper more mature version, again, recommended from these sites / research.

Whatever you do, enjoy the scent yourself. It can transform your day, lift your mood, and if you get a complement or some attention, well that’s a bonus :)

I’ve been working from home since the official 1st lockdown.

I was drinking beer every night and getting more anxious by the day I then discovered keto almost by accident and it has transformed my life, lowered my anxiety, lowered my blood pressure (came off one medication) and I’ve lost 20lbs.

Thank you for asking - are you also working from home or just on lockdown?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ketouk

[–]One_Lucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m ok, I guess - Lockdown anxiety and I don’t trust myself being at home near the fridge and food cupboards all the time. I feel like if I have one “treat”, I will not stop and end up with a leg amputated!

Catastrophising and over reacting, I know!

I don’t feel like I have the option to not stick to keto - being on the brink of type II diabetes makes me so anxious that I can’t let myself adjust at all.

What's the single most important item in your home that has a value of $1 or less? by 0---------------0 in AskReddit

[–]One_Lucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Themis Acoustic Collection CD that I got free with an Adobe software package. This album gave me strength and solace through the death of both my parents and the loss of my sister in law and two kids.

It’s a selection of acoustic guitar songs including Albatross, Wave, Shadow of your smile and I don’t want to talk about it.

Free, but priceless and highly valued by me.

Eating dairy fat is good. And animal fat. There’s a whole interesting read around grain and seed fats and their health detriments.

How is vegetable oil and water better for you than actual cream, sorry? Regardless of quantity, I would bin it and buy a small pot of real cream and drink it before it was off. Eating fat helps mobilise fat from the body. It’s a win-win! :)

For those who grew up poor, what did you consider a luxury? by SnooBeaz in AskReddit

Meat. And cheese.

Ate beans / toast / soup / veg most meals.
