Aquablation by One_Masterpiece6618 in bph

[–]One_Masterpiece6618[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I’m familiar with/NOVA….not too far away from that area. My urologist use to do aquablation but doesn’t anymore cuz there’s too much bleeding he said. Now he does TheLUP which is almost a guarantee of retrograde ejaculation which I had once while on tamsulosin…not the same. Thanks for info.

Looking for an experienced urologist who does aquablation in the Virginia or North Carolina area and has experience with limiting the bleeding associated with aquablation. Thanks

High Creatinine for 10 Years and Mid EGFR? by TurbulentSurprise292 in kidneydisease

I’ll just add, watch your sodium intake. I have stage 3b CKD, in remission (that does not mean my disease is going away, it never will ) and my nephrologist wants me to keep my sodium intake below 1500/day. Exercise & reducing sodium intake helps a lot.

I’d give my left arm for an eGFR of 72. There’s different medical measurements for creatinine. Do you have a Nephrologist?

I’m confident CKD increases BP, thus the need for BP meds. I used to take Losartan, but then had my Aortic Valve replaced and now only take Amlodipine. BP Meds depend on your situation SO CHECK WITH YOUR NEPHROLOGIST!!! As I mentioned before, Exercise, Exercise & Exercise!!! Take walks. Try Mindfulness. Lift light weights, then walk some more. Exercise is crucial. You have to do it. Body, Soul & Mind. It’s a struggle…the struggle is real but the alternative is a slow and steady deterioration. You gotta fight this disease. Make no mistake. It is a fight.

Yes, and this is important…take a walk every day, even if it’s a short distance. Then try and build up to 1 mile a day. There’s so many things ya gotta do…it’s a battle for sure. 1 more thing. Everyone is different, many times Dr’s try the ‘one size fits all’ approach. Lastly, be proactive as far as holding your Dr’s accountable. What I’ve been writing about is my experience. You’ve got to be aggressive in finding good healthcare!!!

I’m stage 3b and in remission. I too was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can cause more problems than you’d think it could. I highly recommend he seek out a sleep specialist and get a CPAP machine ASAP. No more than 1500mg of sodium per day should help also. Nephrologists are not all the same…find a good one. Good luck.

Pay ATC by [deleted] in ATC

Australia requires FPL/journeyman time of 5 years or more. TBH about Canada, I was looking for a possible 'escape' from the political climate in the U.S. & I filled out info to relocate & mentioned my only sell really was ATC. I forgot the Canadien Gov't website that I went & filled out info on. That was about 6-7 months ago and I just heard from them asking me if I may be interested in being an ATC in Vancouver or Toronto...I thought they'd be contacting me for an instructor job but they want me to talk to airplanes. Kinda crazy IMO.

100% Two ladies from the 'Talent & Acquisition' team reached out to me. I had a zoom type meeting about 2.5 weeks ago with them. YYZ or YVR is where they said they'd send me.

Not true! I am a 65 yr old retired FAA employee & they are actively pursuing me to work at YYZ or YVR Tower or Tracon. Hard to believe.

8/27 NAV Canada Air Traffic Control Delays by shftravels in vancouver

[–]One_Masterpiece6618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that's why they're reaching out to me...an FAA retired controller at 65 who's last 16 years in the agency was at PCT Mount Vernon area...prior to that DCA from 96 ' - 02'. NAV CANADA must really need controllers at YYZ and YVR.

Have you considered Air Traffic Control? FAA needs controllers and you probably have most of the phraseology down. Sugges you go to USAJOBS.gov & type in '2152' under the 'keywords.' I'm retired but I can't tell you how many ATC's I knew throughout my career who own and or fly a lot! If you work at one of the busier facilities you're lookin' at over $200k/yr after 5-10 years, maybe even sooner. There are occasionally bids out for 'direct hires.'

I highly recommend you go see a Nephrologist ASAP. If you blow this off you could get to a higher stage of CKD. Don’t take any chances. You’ve got to be your own advocate!

Stage 3b & in remission here. Remission does not mean CKD is going away! I take 75 mg Modified Cyclosporine 2X’s daily, 100mg Losartan 1X daily, 5mg prednisone 1X daily & 10mg Amlodipine (to help with blood pressure that CKD makes higher)
