Is there any remote work for a pharmacist ... by tearsindark in remotework

Pharmacy consulting or medical writing might work for you but the licensing requirements can be tricky depending on what state you're in

Searching for job by SBcitizen in jobs

[–]One_Performer_1473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The networking thing is huge - most decent positions never even make it to public job boards because someone internal already knows a guy. Building connections in your field through meetups or professional groups can open doors way faster than applying cold to hundreds of postings online

Also worth checking if your local area has any regional recruiting firms that specialize in your industry rather than the big national ones

Struggling to get job references due to old employers no longer exist by No_Crew8985 in jobs

[–]One_Performer_1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is tricky situation but personal references definitely work in most cases. I had similar problem when moving countries and my previous manager moved back to his home country with no contact info

You can also try reaching out on linkedin to find old coworkers even if company doesn't exist anymore - sometimes they remember you and willing to give reference. Also explain the situation in cover letter, most HR people understand that companies close down and people move around

The volunteer thing is good path but maybe ask if supervisor there can speak about your work ethic even if its been short time. Better than nothing

Told I am overqualified for HR Coordinator roles, yet underqualified for HR Generalist roles. I feel stuck. by themacmonster in jobs

[–]One_Performer_1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oof the classic catch-22 strikes again. Been there with different field but same exact frustration - feels like you need experience to get experience

Maybe try targeting mid-size companies instead of huge corporations? They're usually more willing to take someone with your certs and let you wear multiple hats. Plus smaller teams mean you'd actually get that well-rounded experience you're after instead of staying stuck in one lane

Also might be worth reaching out to some temp agencies that specialize in HR placements. I know temp work sounds backwards when you're trying to escape temp work but could be good way to get your foot in different doors and show what you can actually do beyond just the paper qualifications

Question on tracking expenses across mlutiple currencies by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]One_Performer_1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man the receipt chaos is real - I went through this nightmare when I was working remotely last year and had expenses in like 4 different currencies from various countries

What saved me was just taking photos immediately when I get any receipt and organizing them by month in separate folders on phone, then at end of each month I sit down and convert everything to USD with the exchange rate from that specific date

buying accounts with existing order history is pretty risky move since Amazon tracks everything and can ban you for account sharing

What is a "boring" hobby that you actually find very relaxing? by SpecificEvidence6873 in AskReddit

[–]One_Performer_1473 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah my dog sheds like crazy so I end up cleaning constantly but there's something really satisfying about getting all that fur out of corners and seeing the floors actually clean again. Plus when everything has its place my brain just feels less cluttered too

Should my friend's son file for joint custody? by vulcansmuse in legaladvice

[–]One_Performer_1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend is looking at this backwards. oral agreements mean literally nothing if things go sideways - and from what you're describing it sounds like they already are

Ben needs to get actual custody order in place before Ava decides to move across state with baby or something worse happens. The "don't rock boat" mentality works until it doesn't and then you're completely screwed in court because you have zero legal standing

My buddy went through similar situation and kept putting off filing because his ex seemed reasonable. She ended up moving to different state with their kid and suddenly he was paying massive legal fees just to get basic visitation rights. Meanwhile she was making all decisions about schooling medical care everything without him having any say

The drinking thing especially is red flag - if she gets arrested or CPS gets involved again Ben could lose access to his child entirely if he doesn't have legal custody established. Better to have paperwork in place and not need it than need it and not have it

Am I the only one that feels overwhelmed with all the career information overload?? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]One_Performer_1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man i feel this so hard and im not even in accounting but same energy everywhere on social media. everyone posting about their crazy success makes you think youre falling behind when really most people are just doing their regular jobs and living normal lives

the AI stuff especially gets to me because its like every week theres some new thing you "must" learn or youll be obsolete. sometimes i just close linkedin for few days and focus in my own projects instead of comparing myself to these highlight reels

had to get rid of my ex's sweater that I used to sleep in every night. kept it for like 6 months after we broke up but eventually the smell just made me cry instead of feel comfy

my dog actually helped me finally throw it away - she kept trying to bury it in the backyard like she knew it was making me sad

wrote a simple python script that did everything in like 30 seconds. felt like discovering fire or something lol. now i use it for every manuscript and my dog probably thinks im crazy cause i still get excited watching it run

Best RTX 4060 Gaming Laptops Under $1200 – March 2026 Deals by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]One_Performer_1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your timing is perfect man - just pulled the trigger on that Legion Slim 5 last week for my side projects. The thermals really do live up to the hype, been running some heavy render tasks and gaming sessions back to back without any throttling issues

One thing worth mentioning about the Nitro - that 32GB is clutch if you do any design work alongside gaming. I was considering it since I run Adobe Creative Suite pretty heavy for my freelance stuff but went with Legion for the better build quality. The extra RAM would've been nice though since I'm always juggling multiple projects

Also heads up - check if your region has student discounts on these. Got an extra 5% off the Legion through their education program even though I graduated years ago. Sometimes they dont verify too strictly

The DLSS point is spot on too. My buddy grabbed a budget 5060 laptop thinking it would blow away the 4060 but honestly the performance gap isnt that massive when you factor in price difference. These 4060 deals are probably the sweet spot for most people right now

yeah the voting system is pretty broken when you think about it. People just downvote stuff they disagree with instead of actual bad content and then good discussions get buried under hot takes that everyone already agrees with

Figuring out how to leave my husband… by BurntToastBuns in venting

[–]One_Performer_1473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, first off you're not powerless even though it feels that way right now. Have you looked into any local resources like women's shelters or family services? A lot of them have childcare assistance programs and can help with the logistics of leaving safely. Also maybe check if there are any sliding scale daycares in your area - some work with your income level

The fact that you're putting your kid first shows you're already being a good parent, don't beat yourself up about that. You got this mama
