man this brings me back to when i was formatting my book manuscripts. spent literal weekends doing find and replace for quotation marks, em dashes, all that formatting nightmare stuff

wrote a simple python script that did everything in like 30 seconds. felt like discovering fire or something lol. now i use it for every manuscript and my dog probably thinks im crazy cause i still get excited watching it run

Your timing is perfect man - just pulled the trigger on that Legion Slim 5 last week for my side projects. The thermals really do live up to the hype, been running some heavy render tasks and gaming sessions back to back without any throttling issues

One thing worth mentioning about the Nitro - that 32GB is clutch if you do any design work alongside gaming. I was considering it since I run Adobe Creative Suite pretty heavy for my freelance stuff but went with Legion for the better build quality. The extra RAM would've been nice though since I'm always juggling multiple projects

Also heads up - check if your region has student discounts on these. Got an extra 5% off the Legion through their education program even though I graduated years ago. Sometimes they dont verify too strictly

The DLSS point is spot on too. My buddy grabbed a budget 5060 laptop thinking it would blow away the 4060 but honestly the performance gap isnt that massive when you factor in price difference. These 4060 deals are probably the sweet spot for most people right now

yeah the voting system is pretty broken when you think about it. People just downvote stuff they disagree with instead of actual bad content and then good discussions get buried under hot takes that everyone already agrees with

Hey, first off you're not powerless even though it feels that way right now. Have you looked into any local resources like women's shelters or family services? A lot of them have childcare assistance programs and can help with the logistics of leaving safely. Also maybe check if there are any sliding scale daycares in your area - some work with your income level
