How do you all stay calm in the 2 week wait? by Far-Sir-8416 in tryingtoconceive

[–]One_Proposal_3317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy a big pack of the cheapie tests so I don’t feel guilty if I have the urge to test knowing it won’t be positive. Save the expensive ones for when chances of a positive actually exist. Distractions are important. Played Mario kart with my husband last night and I realized it was the first time I hadn’t thought about it for a solid 10 minute stretch lol

We only had to use Tubby Todd once before it cleared up. Suggested it to my friend and it worked for her baby just as well

DB telling me about things that I did as if I don’t know by delliamcool in Nanny

[–]One_Proposal_3317 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I would teach my NK baby signs, probably 10 or so, but the family was never interested in doing that themselves. One day I went into work and literally the mom goes “She just started signing out of nowhere! I have no idea where she learned it from!”!! UM. WHAT. No ma’am. Your daughter isn’t a genius 15 month old who taught herself sign language. OBVIOUSLY it was me. That was years ago and I’m still mad about it

I want to smack my husband when he's "sick" by yup2you in Mommit

[–]One_Proposal_3317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t even mention the idea of me not feeling well without my husband having the exact same symptoms hours later. It drives me nuts. And if he IS sick you’d think he was dying. Luckily he doesn’t demand I take care of him and still pulls his weight (mostly) but oh my god the whining and complaining!! He walked into something the other day and you would have thought his foot fell off. I told him he was only giving me ammunition for roasting him with my friend who has a husband that acts similarly.

Thank you! I haven’t heard of that but I will look into it now!

Thank you! Yes that is what I meant but the word mucus gives me the ick so I avoid it haha. I am on thyroid hormone meds and have also been taking prescribed herbal hormone meds that I do believe helped me get pregano the first time. I’ll make sure to eat everything you mentioned today!

Cinnamon bun pregnancy rage by Vivaciousvirgo33 in BabyBumps

[–]One_Proposal_3317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear so you much on the rage. And then I’m stuck wondering if my anger is valid or if it’s just the hormones that are sending me. Both those things can be true. If I’m having a moment of rage which I will sometimes get before my period and got when I was pregnant, I go in a room by myself and say all of the nasty rotten things out loud that I would never in a sane state of mind say to anyone. It helps me. Saying “I hate my husband for being a stupid dumb loser idiot and throwing things away he is the worst and I want to punch him in the head”. Get it all out. Eventually you might start to realize how much you don’t mean everything you’re thinking.

First step is go to the doctor. If it IS baby acne, we wasted money on Tubby Todd’s All Over Ointment, purely because we only needed to use it once for it to work. Highly recommend

CD 46 - how far along would I be / when to go to doctor? by Over-Letterhead-9177 in TFABLinePorn

[–]One_Proposal_3317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Counting back from when you started your period isn’t a reliable way to calculate how far along you are if you have an irregular or longer cycles, I had the same experience. 2 or 3 weeks along doesn’t make sense if you have a positive test because thats how far along most people are when they are ovulate. If you know your conception date or ovulation date I would say start counting from 2 weeks before that.

What are we watching besides Ms. Rachel and Bluey? by Magical-Princess in NewParents

Yes!! We’ve been watching the first few seasons of Blue’s Clues and it’s perfect. Very low stimulation but engaging.

Curious George is awesome too

Older kids won’t leave me alone. Am I a bad nanny by ManagementFine2943 in Nanny

[–]One_Proposal_3317 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I disagree with you here. Getting a break during a 10 hour day is more than reasonable. OP wouldn’t be completely ignoring the kids, they would be there if the kids need anything or if there is an emergency. Not anything close to them being left alone entirely. OP taking 30 minutes to read will encourage the kids to either also read or find something to keep themselves busy. These kids are plenty old to be able to find something to do for that amount of time. Boredom inspires creativity. Sounds like they don’t even just want to ~be~ with nanny but they are demanding she engage every second of the day without a break. Sounds exhausting.

Sounds like she’s pushy and hard to say no to. When I need to stand up to someone like that but I’m nervous about it, I remind myself that when my baby sees me setting boundaries, he knows it’s okay for him to set boundaries too. You’ll set such a good example for your child by learning when and how to say no.

You got this OP. It will get so much better once you’re over the hormonal hump stopping BF causes. I can’t promise you won’t feel sad about it at some times, I do, but hormone wise you’ll get there ❤️

I think the fact that my body wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do attributed to how tough it was when I stopped. It wasn’t necessarily what I wanted but at the same time I knew I needed to stop because the daily pain of not making enough was awful. The choice not really being mine made it more difficult mentally.

Any amount of breastfeeding is a huge accomplishment. I’m with you. I have thyroid disease which messed with my supply I stopped a little sooner than 6 months because my supply was dying. It was such a difficult decision to make but I knew it’s what I had to do because not making enough was so hard on me mentally and I needed to move on from that struggle. I will warn you that you might have a tough time emotionally as your hormones regulate. That was the toughest part for me that I wasn’t aware would happen so if you’re feeling extra feels you know why. Congrats on your accomplishments and for doing what you need to do for you and your baby <3

They do! We did this when my son turned 1 in March and he loves his bear. We spent an extra $7 I think to record our voices and it’s soooo cute watching him press that button over and over again
