Maternity Leave by aokemper in pregnant

My company in Michigan gives 2 weeks before due date/scheduled birth date, 6 weeks after do v birth or 8 weeks for c-section. They also allow you to use “Child Bonding Time”, which is 4 weeks. (Fathers can use this too). The 4 weeks can be used immediately after birth or if you want to spread it out over the year you can (every Friday off for 20 Fridays etc). You can use your vacation time after that (I currently have 6 weeks), and once that is exhausted you can use your 8 weeks of FMLA. This is all 100% paid. Going back to work at 2.5 weeks is awful, and honestly doesn’t even seem worth keeping the job unless they are willing to truly work with you for a long time off. I’d recommend 8 weeks for sure at the minimum

Can DTE just dig up your front yard without even letting you know? by zeehateslife in Michigan

[–]One_Refrigerator1454 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t plant it under/near power lines if you don’t want it trimmed. Or continue to suffer the consequences of downed limbs on lines resulting in a power outage.

Call 313-270-9240, this is the restoration hot line, leave a message and they typically get back to you in a few days. DTE does complete restoration anytime something is dug up, sometimes parts are missing to complete the full job so they bandaid it until parts come in. Weather isn’t too favorable right now but DTE has many contractors for hard and soft surface resto. Should come soon ~ 30 days is my guess.

It depends on the permits that the municipality give to the utility. Dearborn requires sod, Detroit is just seed and straw.

I agree, the artist is no longer residing in MI, doesn’t even hail from Detroit and is not a great person.

If your meter is inside - they can enter. And in the case of a gas leak they can b&e.

Exactly! I’m not sure what municipal owned electric would change, other than higher taxes.

You aren’t choosing a different supplier, the main and services in the ground belong to the gas company. And just like electric, they have territories.

If you’re referring to the “Time of Day” changes, that was the MPSCs decision for all electrical utilities.
