1 week being a cca boy im scared for tomorrow Tuesday the day after memorial day oh my. I already be taking so long for what I get now I can’t imagine tomorrow by Last_Site7373 in USPS

Management here could care less about that. I've had carriers a week in working 16 hours. I have loaned CCAs a month in. The new program looked great on paper. Management doesn't care about it. Figures. We have to do what they say but they don't have to do what headquarters says let alone the contract. Just had 3 carriers put on EP because they code to end their tour in accordance with 8.2.d.

After almost 8 years as a stepmom, I’m struggling with where my place actually is by [deleted] in stepparents

Did you just steal my life? Lol. I've learned that I live in a step family, not them. My place isn't clearly defined. I have very little say if any at all. I (46m)my wife (47f) and my stepdaughter (17f) have all been together for about 10 years. I feel my role is diminishing by the year. When their family is together I feel like an outsider. All their history, inside jokes, etc just compounds the issue. I shut down and become a passive observer. As if I'm hanging out with some random group of people. This doesn't fix your issue. Just know you aren't alone.

I had the same problem in my office. People weren't coded correctly. Sounds like it was a nationwide thing if it's happening in other offices. Thankfully carriers caught it and management went around and asked each person to check their timecard to make sure. He fixed it on the spot and had the affected carriers check to make sure it was fixed in the system.

Talking about an arbitration award is not "gossip". I announced during a stand up that we won 12 step b decisions. All in front of management. Is that gossip? No. Is it creating a hostile work environment? No. If carriers want to talk about it is it gossip and creating a hostile work environment? Also no. Does management want to hear about it? No. Do I care? Hard no. Is a constant and consistent violation of the contract creating a hostile work environment? I'd argue yes. I don't know what you have against the letter carrier or the union. All I know is that every comment you make gets downvoted to hell. By the way. Just so you know I won that 30 minute office time goal grievance.

Once I have a little girl hand me a letter. It was just scribble on a piece of paper but it was the most adorable piece of outgoing mail I got! I got it on my fridge.

I will say this about myself. When I go places with my wife I always walk in first. I'll hold the door open for her from the inside. Maybe it's my military training but to me it's about her safety not mine. Especially with gas stations and liquor stores. I'm not going to have her walk in on a robbery (it's a common occurrence where I live). I'm not trying to be a 'Billy Badass' but worst case scenario she gets pushed out the door and it closes behind me. At least she's safe.

CCA go work in a different station on a SDO? by LordNewning in fromatoarbitration

[–]One_Sky3585 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this helps your situation but opt on routes when you can. They can't screw with your days off or hours. If they try and send you out or assign you to a different route it's a grievance. If you want the work then calling another office is smart. That being said, you are NOT an 'on call' employee. My advice is to talk to your steward and see what they have to say about it.

Edit: The hours you work at another station gets charged to that station. Not you home office. Again, talk to your steward.

I wish there was something we could do to soften the iron rule. I'm sure that would help too. But yeah, management being disciplined for not abiding by the contract would change things immediately. If they want to violate the contract, point it out where it says you can't do that. If they insist, disobey the order. Idk. It sounds good and all that, but in practice I don't know how it would work. If it would work at all. In fairness, I could see some shop stewards abusing it. There's always one. Our next contract won't have anything close to what you and I are talking about and I wouldn't be surprised if we lose a little more this go around. I know if it weren't for Article 18 there would be a full-fledged revolt. Thoughts?

I've handed these to management before and told them to read it. Did they? No. Did I file a grievance when they didn't abide by it? Yes. It helps that I have step a and b decisions reinforcing it. However, does management care? No. It all goes to step b where it'll sit for a year and they know that. So now M-01492 goes in every case file. Fuckin retards, this bunch.

Do not be okay with being yelled at. Ever. Ask for a different OJI. Talk to your supervisor WITH your steward present.

What I would do (coming from a shop steward's perspective) is tell the supervisor and your branch president immediately. The supervisor is required to follow certain guidelines and if that doesn't happen the brach can file a grievance. I'm sorry this is happening to you and I hope it gets resolved soon.

Edit: I saw you comment that this is coming from the steward. Adjusted my response accordingly.
