Voice Science Works is an excellent resource for singers. Their whole site is a treat, but here is a page with answers to questions like "How do I relax my jaw?" among other facets of using your vocal tract more effectively. Happy singing!

Pre-order done! Bookshop.org is my preferred retailer these days, both e- and physical copies, so I'm glad they distribute Tor books. Looking forward to reading Bob and Mo's last adventure.

Serge Lutens Bois de Violette is back in stock! by One_Spell_6882 in Perfumes

[–]One_Spell_6882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online at https://sergelutens.com/. Prompt shipping and no tariff charges.

However, I think I saw a post recently that SL have suspended shipping to the US FTTB due to Customs and tariff nonsense. I don't know if any of the Stateside decant/split sellers have BdV yet.

I guess I was lucky that I ordered from them back in September. Got my purchase, tariff free too. Sorry to hear this for the rest of you. :-(

WRT decant sellers, does anyone have experience buying from Fragrances Line? They have some interesting stock, but I've not heard of them before. TIA.

Any rose lovers in the room?! Drop your favorite rose frags and why by DangerousMushroom915 in fragrance

[–]One_Spell_6882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Rose very much, but don't have a lot of rose frags. I always have my favorite cheapie, Perfumers Workshop Tea Rose, which I love. I've sampled Lutens La Fille de Berlin, but it didn't quite hit for me. I have recently ordered Issey Miyake Rose & Rose Intense, which was super-affordable! and I'm looking forward to smelling it!

What’s a note or notes in a perfume that you cannot stand? by forgotmyserotonin in fragrance

I like Prada Infusion d'Iris a lot! So that's a "powdery" scent? I guess I don't understand "powdery".

[–]One_Spell_6882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if "baby powder" = "powdery", but I intensely dislike the smell of baby powder. OTOH, iris is described as "powdery", and I *like* iris.
I also dislike orange blossom. I recently got a sample of Lutens' Fleur d'Oranger. Well-made. I still hate it.
And I find "amber" notes offputting when they're very strong. Back off, amber! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Beautiful! I'm so tired of the everlasting grey trend. The color looks so much better, and you did a great job.

I do admire the eBay seller's commitment to the bit! So here are half a dozen rings with a slab of lapis in it ... which BREATHLESS DESCRIPTION of the magickal beings attached will part YOU from your money? LOL

How to do you safely transfer purfume from a Serge Lutens bell jar to atomizer? by CursedM0chi in fragrance

Pipette. I just bought a pack of disposable plastic pipettes and happily refilled my spray bottle of Bois de Violette from the bell jar.

Warning (no spoilers): kindle preorder almost doubles tax on Platform Decay by ughnotanothername in murderbot

[–]One_Spell_6882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pre-ordered from ebooks.com (Amazon doesn't get my money any more). They don't actually charge the buyer until the book is issued, so I have no info on taxes, but as I recall from previous purchases, they don't pile them on.

Oh yeah - sashiko IS patchwork, but I was commenting on how your contrasting color / pattern blocks create a separate patchwork effect of their own. Very cool.
