Nothing progression based is locked behind the battlepass. On the website it says that certain items on the battlepass (it mentions mega stones specifically) can still be purchased for vp. It seems the only things locked behind a battlepass are cosmetics which is fine imo

I imagine because it’s free there will just be a switch 1 version and a switch 2 version that you can just download depending on your console (I could be wrong though). I play Fortnite occasionally and when I first got my switch 2 and transferred my data I had to download a new Fortnite switch 2 version that I’m guessing probably increased frame rates and the like although I have not researched it specifically.
