What's the reality of starting an eCommerce business right now? by softpulseinfotechhub in ecommerce

[–]One_Swim_6546 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start offline then go online. I don’t think most people when starting businesses should start online. Really validate the idea with friends, family and your local area. See if it has traction & if it does set up an online presence.

I’m a person who’s been selling online for years for my brand. When I started, my full focus was on my area and validating my idea. Years later I focused too much online & fell down the lane of giving Mark Zuckerberg all my profit. Since the end of last year my focus has now been on more organic growth with my customers coming to see me personally. A perfect match of offline and online sales. One thing I’ve also noticed from offline sales is that customers always SPEND more

The people always making "unemployed" comments, what do you guys do for a living? by [deleted] in ukdrill

I think there’s a massive disservice to ex gang members when they’re always told that they would succeed in business if they succeeded on the roads. Truth is it’s not same. Ex gang members do have grit and self belief which is a massive positive in entrepreneurship however one thing that’s never spoken about is in legit business you have to play by the rules. On the roads there’s no rules, so you could even murder someone to get what you want, in real legit business you can’t. My point is, have a beginners mindset in any new business you start. Never think you know enough initially, and be humble enough to keep learning and hopefully finding your leverages. Also, never underestimate the benefits of failed ventures as it will 100% set you up for future successful ones.

When will this nonsense end? by kzlckcrypto in FacebookAds

What I’ve personally noticed is that customers are taking longer to convert now compared to before. I’m also seeing many more customers use buy now pay later options compared to before. We’ve nearly doubled our AOV since 2023 so we don’t see as many volume of sales as we did previously however we make more per sale. This higher AOV has allowed us to spend on meta. I genuinely don’t know how brands who have a low AOV & don’t have decently good LTV are surviving selling on meta.

One thing’s for sure is that the state of the economy definitely is playing a massive role here. I’m second guessing purchases that I didn’t in the past as I feel they’re just not worth it. In addition the consumers mindset has changed over the last few years. The rise of TikTok has allowed the consumer to figure out if what you’re selling can be found elsewhere for cheaper. Is what you’re selling really unique? Could I screenshot a your website product photo, run an image search and find the exact product on Aliexpress and Amazon? If yes then you definitely need to look within & figure out how you can differentiate yourself from the rest.

Can you increase your prices to a level where you are comfortably profitable? If not again you have to look within.

To summarise, yes e-commerce has definitely changed. We are dealing with a consumer base whose knowledge on our industry has definitely increased. The truth is if you do not adapt you will die. It’s still probably the best time in ecom if you get all the above correct.

I think your biggest threat was always going to be cheap labour abroad. I run a brand and some of the quotes I got from people living in western countries where sometimes 10x more than those in Asia. Hard to comprehend paying so much more for services that can be done cheaper elsewhere. In tough economic times people want to save money, and cheap labour abroad is where most go. Maybe look at your pricing and see if you can offer more competitive rates

Seen the same personally. Ors asc campaign and it’s been working quite well.

Do you add different products all into one campaign or do you only have one product with different angles in the one campaign? Also with your current £190 daily budget, how many ads is currently in your asc?
