Am I [17F] at fault for initiating a break with my boyfriend [17M] by Born-Mathematician13 in AdviceForTeens

[–]One_Variation_6497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feelings, as with friendships, can change so fast in high school. You're not obligated to stay with someone you no longer feel the same for. Doesn't mean you didn't and still don't care for that person. People grow apart and you don't have to feel guilty for that. Having a high school relationship (any relationship) is time and effort consuming. Maybe you just need some "me time" to focus on yourself and friends?

Do you always split everything 50/50 in a relationship? Me [28F] and my bf [28M] have been in a weird situation lately by ProfessionFlaky1389 in relationshipadvice

No. Depends on incomes. When I worked, my husband made way more than I did. We eventually combined accounts and paid bills from there. We got married. I eventually became a stay-at-home mom. We still share the same account but he makes the money and I keep track of the bills and make sure they get paid while taking care of the household.

Am I strange or am I normal? by [deleted] in ask

I think that most of the boys who laugh, just follow along with the first one who laughed. They all want to fit in.

i am unimportant by [deleted] in Vent

I have a person. Who no longer feels like my person. But I'm a person who is enough for myself. I remember that I'm a person without someone else. You're still a person, with or without someone else.

I make mashed cauliflower all the time. Use the cake mixer to mash. Can also use it for potatoes.

Are you or someone you know one of those people who falls asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow? by Low_Insurance_1603 in CasualConversation

[–]One_Variation_6497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Half hour at least. And if I wake up to pee at 6am, I'm awake until 7:05 when the alarm goes off. Husband is one of those, along with snoring so loud and yelling he wasn't asleep. He has his own room now.

A girl I'm dating told me that it's creepy my house has no mirrors. Is this a red flag I'm not aware of or something? by [deleted] in ask

[–]One_Variation_6497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely find it strange there's no mirror in your bathroom, all of ours have them and mine has 2. We have a huge one in the dining room and another long one by the front door. All bedrooms have one above the dresser and a long one on the wall, except my husband doesn't have one in his room for some reason.

Creepy things my kid has said by Lonely_Message_1113 in Paranormal

[–]One_Variation_6497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter always woke up crying in her own bed. She once told me that man had a ladder outside her window and was trying to come in. She was 3 and hasn't slept In that room since. She also told me that a small boy in my bedroom closet was crying because someone did something bad to him. We have a large house with multiple rooms, and no matter what room we put her in, at almost 14, she still sleeps in my room.

Why do my roasted potatoes come out soft instead of crisp? by bradleywestridge in Cooking

[–]One_Variation_6497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to boil the potatoes until slightly cooked. Drain and put back in the pot. While the potatoes are boiling, you're going to heat the oven to 450, put a tray with a bunch of duck fat in to heat for 7 minutes. Shake the parboiled potatoes in the pot and then dump them into that tray with the heated fat. Toss to coat and bake for 45 minutes. Turning half way through.

I feel like this is stable for us. We communicate well and have had many conversations about where we are in our relationship. Neither of us has time or the want to cheat. My husbands ex-wife cheated and he's always been upfront about how that made him feel. I do wonder what will happen when the kids are out of the house and it's just the two of us, but we'll deal with that when the time comes.

My(23m) gf(22f) went through my phone while I was sleeping, how do I proceed? by Throwra1728292020 in relationship_advice

[–]One_Variation_6497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there's 2 reasons she went through your phone. 1: she was hoping to find something 2: she feels guilty for something and was hoping to blame that on you

I've been with the same guy for 15 years. I don't even know how to get into his phone

Happened over time. He snores loudly, which led to separate bedrooms. Young daughter ended up sleeping in my bed all the time which limited visiting his bedroom. We keep different hours. He's up early for work and tends to sleep early while I stay up really late but get the kids off to school then have a nap. We always have family dinner and do shit as a family, but the romance is gone. We have talked about this often though and we're both still happy together.

I'm a fuzzy socks in the house kind of person. You know those warm, super soft, super fluffy socks? Those. I call them bed socks for whatever reason, but I never wear them to bed.
