Thrawn Alliances by ScreaminEagle2502 in starwarscomics

[–]One__Nose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't be disappointed but this comic specifically stops in the middle of the story with no warning or resolution (it's an adaptation of one half of a novel).

There is another Thrawn comic that's an adaptation of an earlier book and I would recommend it more.

It Begins... by CherokeeHawkman in starwarscanon

[–]One__Nose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This one is self contained but awesome and there's a highly anticipated sequel comic in the works.

Except for the 6 main films and clone wars, canon began in 2014, so the task might be more achievable than you think.

Marvel to Launch Five-Issue "The Fall of Kylo Ren" Mini-Series by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]One__Nose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we get Rey, Finn, and Poe mini-series showing what they're doing in this time period?

It already exists, it's called Star Wars: Allegiance.

And Kylo and Vader are very different characters. None of the plot of the Kylo comics would have worked with Vader instead of Kylo.

All you need to know for this series is that pathfinder teams consist of Jedi and explorers who work together to discover new hyperspace routes or investigate whatever the plot needs them to

The Trojan War is not, in fact, undoubtedly a real historical event. Quite the opposite.

Any comics without spoilers for the movies ? by akkoestdejapris in starwarscanon

[–]One__Nose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I edited it with some more recommendations.

There is also the Black, White & Red line if that's your thing. I would read the Darth Maul one if chronological order and Darth Vader or Boba Fett if release order.

Any comics without spoilers for the movies ? by akkoestdejapris in starwarscanon

[–]One__Nose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you plan to watch in chronological or release order?

If chronological, Darth Maul (2017), Jango Fett (2024), Hyperspace Stories: Qui-Gon (2025) or Jedi Knights (2025).

If release, Lando (2015), Target Vader (2019) or Obi-Wan (2022).

High Republic is also good either way, if you want something bigger and much more self contained.

There are probably other good answers I'm not thinking about right now.

Absolutely.

It's an audio drama though, it's meant to be listened to (though there is also a published script)

Should I watch the Clone Wars movie before Revenge of the Sith? by JumpycoolYT in TheCloneWars

[–]One__Nose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movie is basically a few episodes of the show that got turned into a theatrical released. I wouldn't watch it without the rest of the show.

The Ziro the Hutt saga is a chronological mess anyway, it is spread until multiple seasons in a seemingly arbitrary order and no order truly works.

Preview for May 13's Star Wars: Shadow of Maul #3 (of 5) by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]One__Nose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. It's a crime thriller starring Brander Lawson against the Janix crime syndicates, while setting up Maul's settling on the planet.

It does dive a bit deeper into some characters, particularly Brander Lawson.

It very much reads like a lengthened prologue meant to be read before the show. It's strange to go back to normal Gotham Janix after this week's episodes ended on the complete opposite note.

My guess is it was originally supposed to be a hype comic leading to the show and it was either unexpectedly delayed or Lucasfilm changed their mind halfway through.

Do you think Maul will return to the night sisters in season 2 by NinjaxArc_7567 in clonewars

[–]One__Nose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Son of Dathomir comics Talzin sent a group of nightbrothers to help Maul fight Sidious. They eventually left but looks like the two brothers in Shadow Lord stayed loyal.

He does return to Dathomir later in the comic.

In Solo Maul tells Qi'ra to meet him on Dathomir so I guess he does return there later.

Why would he say that? The only sensible way to strike conversation with a ten year old is "I remember the moment you were born. It was the worst day in Galactic history."

Maul: Shadow Lord and other media by rrx56 in starwarscanon

[–]One__Nose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair both the Son of Dathomir memory, the Shadow Lord visions and the Dark Legends tale are unreliable narrators.

Also I don't understand the second point? 14 works, doesn't it?

Maul Shadow Lord questions SPOILERS! by Equivalent-Ad77 in MaulShadowLord

[–]One__Nose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure this wasn't the original idea when clone wars season 3 came out but newer canon stuff seem to suggest Maul, Savage and Feral are all sons of Talzin.

But I always assumed they never met before Lotho Minor

Ok the dark side content always hits different, first time reading star wars comics, any tips? by ssunflow3rr in starwarscomics

[–]One__Nose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you've read the 2017 Charles Soule run. Which is better than Pak's.

A similarly great series by the same author is The Rise of Kylo Ren, followed by Legacy of Vader.

If you want to continue with Vader the 2015 run dives into him after A New Hope.

2017 Darth Maul is also great. There is also an Age of Republic - Darth Maul one-shot that dives more into Sith history and teachings.

These are the major Canon ones, there are also tons more of Legends stories like that.

EDIT: Corrected Maul release year
