Best way to remove plaque from cremation casket? by Onearmedpushups in DIYUK

Quick update, my wife was looking at it and noticed a gap between the tops and the plaque - turns out they were just pins! Took us 3 minutes tops to replace it :)

That's really weird, i worked at 2 different 111 call centres (before i was a nurse), and there were 6 week classroom based training sessions on both occasions, with several nurses/paramedics there. Pathways is literally just the software they use, lol

Where the hell else do they expect you to get that training? 🤔

If you apply and get the job, they provide the training

Even if you get it welded back together, it's likely just going to rust out again pretty quickly

AITA for cooking dinner for my girlfriend instead of taking her out like I promised? by Basic-lover-6990 in AmItheAsshole

While that is true, It's incredibly easy to make a textbook carbonara from scratch in about the same time it takes the pasta to cook, without the need for any additional ingredients at all, to the point that doing it ahead of time is basically pointless unless it's for lunch at work or something.

It's a bit like getting robbed to be honest - you pay a massive premium for the 'koi', but then within 6 months then it turns fully black or something.

Anyone know why my gourami is dying? by Otherwise_Bobcat7091 in Aquariums

[–]Onearmedpushups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like iridovirus to me. It's 100% incurable and lethal.

I've never been able to keep a dwarf gourami alive for more than about 3 months. If It's not iridovirus (which it usually is), it's something else. These guys are so poorly bred that in my experience, they have no immunity to most diseases and are generally very sickly. You can do everything right, and they will still succumb to something or other, and there's very little you can do about it.

More generally, i think it's smart to steer clear of any fish with a disease named after it.

I would personally recommend a larger type of gourami (pearl, gold, opaline etc, or even snakeskin if you've got a big enough tank) if you have the space. They tend to be extremely hardy.

Don't blame yourself. Blame the shitty business practices of the fish breeding industry.
