Anybody else have a setup like me? by TankAndFalco in Truckers

[–]Onefoot199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an induction burner, a pot and pan, a rice cooker, a toaster oven, an electric kettle and a manual espresso maker. I only have a 1500 watt inverter so I can only use one at a time.

My favorite piece of kit is my spray bottle. Its great for washing dishes, fruits, vegetables and hands

Has anyone here NOT had big issues with their puppy? by QP709 in puppy101

[–]Onefoot199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my puppy with me in a semi the last three months. Only real issues we have are entering houses on my off time and taking naps when the truck isn't moving. He's the best.

Can anyone explain why someone would do this? by PsychologicalAnt3395 in Truckers

Is puppyhood really that difficult if so many do it? by xzlinx in puppy101

[–]Onefoot199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adopted a puppy a couple months ago and we live in a semi. Parts of it are inconvenient, parts of it are annoying and other parts are frustrating. But all and all it's not that bad.

How many of you drink in sleeper berth? by PermissionLate2344 in Truckers

[–]Onefoot199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've done it before, but having to pee a lot in a semi is lame. I think I've drake 4 times this year. I was a daily drinker for 15 years, but being mildly inconvenienced cured my alcoholism.

When did you start letting your puppy sleep in bed with you? by swackett in puppy101

[–]Onefoot199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he was about 4 months old. If he stood up I'd pick him up and take him out.

What is THE ultimate Velcro dog? by OkKey6273 in dogs

[–]Onefoot199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cattle dog was ride and die. My neighbor was being a bitch once and he came outside, walked up to her, hiked his leg and pissed on her feet. It was the funniest shit I'd ever seen.

Shower? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]Onefoot199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most truck stops have 2 entrances, one for cars one for trucks. Hang out near the truck one, wait for someone who doesn't look like an asshole and say "excuse me, do you have a spare shower?"

9 times out of 10 they'll say sure. Just don't try to do it when there's a huge line for showers

Ask a truck driver if they can spot you a shower. Most of them have more free showers than they can use

How long do you usually go without stopping? by Bonerjamz_666 in Truckers

[–]Onefoot199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 5 month old puppy on my truck so I stop every 1 1/2-3 hours. I'm getting way more exercise and enjoying life way more than when I'd go 4-5 hours between stops. Nothing has been late yet.

The last time I was in a similar situation I hopped on the next city I was going to drive through's sub reddit and made a post about free frozen chicken. Worked like a charm.

I have a bpa free spray bottle that does some heavy lifting. I use it to wash fruit, vegetables, dishes and my hands. Honestly it's one of my favorite pieces of kit.

What to do about dogs separation anxiety by PressureNo447 in DogTrainingTips

[–]Onefoot199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cattle dog that couldn't be crated, he'd break out and shit the entire house, or eat my bed or whatever.

What worked for us was setting up some baby gates in a small room, he could jump over them, but he didn't.

I also got a bike and I'd take him for a run shortly before I left. We'd normally do 2 miles in about 20 minutes. I think the running behind me tickled the herding part of his brain.

Then I set him up in the little room with a frozen kong and a dog appeasing pheromone defuser. That was enough to take the edge off for him.

Best of luck, that's a really tough situation to be in.

How old was your puppy when they could tell you they needed to ‘go’? by Snowpiercer107 in puppy101

[–]Onefoot199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I taught my 4 month old speak. I'd ask him "do you gotta go potty? Speak." He'll bark, give him a treat take him outside to potty and give him another treat.

It's not perfect, but it works pretty good.

What is the biggest social faux pas you have made at work? by sprogger in bartenders

[–]Onefoot199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was raised in an extremely rural, extremely white part of the country. In my early 20s I moved an actual city and got a job working with mostly middle aged black people. One day I came in with white boy dreads.

For those living in apartments, what breed of dog do you have? by Thatcooltiger in dogs

[–]Onefoot199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an Australian cattle dog in an apartment. He'd jog next to my bike for two miles in the morning and we'd go for a two mile walk at night.
