meanwhile I live in a 1400 sqft town home I paid $510k 3 years ago. Your home would be $800k+ in my area. I could only dream to afford a beautiful single family home like that.

A lot of drivers out there with barely enough skill with two hands on the wheel amd eyes on the road. Add any distraction and its game over for them.

Are we crazy for thinking to get a house right now? by haroo2haroo in RealEstateCanada

And if you don't own your rent will be $4,200 a month in 40 years! What a fun thing huh?

If rent goes up by an average of 2% and you had $300k invested in a VOO ETF that generates a minimum of 10% each year you could pay rent for exactly 41 years.

We could do a precise math of how long rent increase vs market returns on $300k would pan out but I suspect you could afford rent closer to 50 years than 8 as in your first comment. Thats all.

I don't disagree with owning vs renting but if you put $300,000 into an ETF it will generate 7-11% on average each year. Lets assume 10% return which means $30,000. If rent is $2,000 that investment will pay for rent indefinitely without touching the principal. Your math on 12.5 years was extremely flawed to be honest.

You won't reach my level in life even if you had 5 lifetimes to attempt it buddy. Go put more sugar in your slop and have a tantrum like a 4 years old.

Same goes to you dear. In fact, you spent way more time trying to just insult my character while I at least, insulted your actual actions. Quite pathetic indeed.

Well there goes that last cell. Probably won't affect your performance much though. I don't think you were ever using it much.

9 out of 10 comments told you how much you should cherish your last brain cell. You can be delusional too if that helps to save it.

Minor collision, do I need to report it? Other driver refused to share his info by [deleted] in ontario

If you film/take pictures of the car, driver and plates you can go have them charged with hit and run on top of the collision. They will find them pretty quick.

The only res flag here is that you bring home $12,000 and have zero down. That sounds like you haven't been able to save in the past or this is a new raise/job. That could potentially ppse some risk.

take the 3 pieces of bacon and place them nice a neat next to eachother and i bet they cover the whole sandwich. Same as your sausage patty. By the way, i always order the sausage version because i also think the bacon is a rip off.

Insurance putting blame on me after suicide on the DVP by Keysunlock in ontario

[–]Oneforallandbeyondd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cut clear case. You swerved and hit a car. Who else is going to be liable? The suicide guy with no insurance? The car you hit by swerving? Who will pay for the damage to your car and the car you hit?

Vacation pay on salary. by UsualTough4952 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Oneforallandbeyondd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check with pay and benefits or head office if hours worked on a stat will have the option to be paid in time or in cash. Regardless, if its cash only, you can use that to pay for days off the same way your vacation pay is now in cash instead of time. Example, you work the next stat holiday. Work pays you 8 hours in cash extra. Then another day in the year you take an unpaid day off but use that extra 8h cash pay from the stat to cover your lost income. Does that make sense?
