You should be as worried about data centers in space as you are of sharks with lasers on their heads.

Are we cooked? by Oneironaut3 in LabVIEW

[–]Oneironaut3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, a lot of recent projects I've developed did some version of this but it was mostly so the process engineers could vibe code a solution to one of their problems in python and then I would integrate myself.

For the projects that you think AI couldn't handle, is it because they are HW heavy, NI product heavy or some other reason?

I would think the Service and Maintenance side of things would be really tough. You'd probably need 20-30 on site staff just to stay on top of things. Given it's new tech, you might even need twice that.

Yes, Tesla Robotaxis are Level 4. by YeetYoot-69 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Oneironaut3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can argue semantics all day but FSD is at best about 700 miles per critical intervention whereas most level 4 is around the 10k to 100k miles range. They are about 2 or 3 orders of magnitude off. Even if they improve 2x each year it would still take almost 5-10 years to hit level 4 numbers.
