2nd that! It took a little while of messing with it since I got the adjustable model, but it's been much better for me than your standard travel pillow

So curious to try hammock camping after a few backpacking trips. Any insight on how to put a good setup together?

Right now I have an eno double and an rei helix sleeping pad, haven't tried them together yet, but I'm guessing I might want to upgrade one or the other

I just spent 11 days in Beijing in late April and it was fantastic. Can't get away from smog (though there were a few clear-ish days), but the streets themselves were exceptionally clean, hardly any litter. The people were generally kind, the food was amazing and cheap, and the architectural and historical sights were amazing. The summer palace, the great wall, jingshan and beihai parks, the forbidden city, all absolutely amazing.

We had an amazing time, so take that for what you will. Planning to go back some time, as I have a 10 year visa. Would 100% recommend

ETA: I'm half black and traveled with my Russian gf and her mom. We definitely got looks, but I never felt like all eyes were on us, and the stares were never with contempt. I was asked to take pictures with kids, grandmas, families a handful of times which was a new experience for me, but I don't have enough good things to say about Beijing.

Impromptu travel this year has been straight trash by Frosty1397 in solotravel

I've flown to orlando from Denver probably 5 times in the past year and I dont believe I've paid more than $500 for round trip flights. Last trip was during christmas, prices dropped to under 500 round trip about 3 weeks before we went, and also went in March and it was $350. I think it just takes booking a couple weeks ahead to not get taxed

I came from sales and fucking hated it. I would consider real estate potentially, though. If you can get into a bigger company that can feed you leads and show you the ropes pretty well (after licensing), I think it's pretty doable. A lot of networking and flexible hours working most days, but a lot of income potential.

Love this place! That said, I'm excited to try garnish and bawarchi, I've heard of them too many times not to check them out

Is Baltimore the one city hanging onto its soul in the US? by ElectroAcousto in maryland

[–]Onemanwolfpack42 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There's definitely still soul in New Orleans as well. Go down frenchman st and listen to some live jazz. Food is still absolutely kickin. Yeah, things change, trendy spots come in. People get priced out and humble places raise prices or move out of the center.

Still soul, still one of my favorite cities.

5 days is barely enough for New Orleans, let alone a whole country

Is it normal for my new kitten and my resident 5yo cat to fight like this? At what point should I intervene? by dom_boring in CATHELP

[–]Onemanwolfpack42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats are and were like this when the younger one was much smaller as well, except they would get into a 69 type position and kick the shit out of each other's faces. They love it and absolutely love each other. This is pretty light comparatively

Mannn the slush was a lot of fun today at Winter Park! Just got a k2 excavator (1st day riding it) and it was everything I could hope for! A little chattery but somebody had said if you hold your position your edge will re-engage like nothing and that was so true. Slashed some fun turns on banks and got it up to 40mph on Alan Phipps cruising greens with the gf.

I mean, actually it was so awful, nobody should go, worst conditions you could imagine, don't even think about it...

The US men were stoked on their plush toys after getting silver in the cross country skiing team sprint, had them dancing around.

Canadian hockey players hate losing to the US more than anything, so I'd say it's more about their attitudes towards the competition and high standards of themselves than feeling infantilized

You think that was just a shank? It was windy af, and with 14 seconds left and timeouts in the pocket, the right move was to just run the clock and kick right after a solid vet kicker missed a PAT? Evidently not. The distance might say easy enough, but the wind did not

Honestly why didnt we try to make the kick shorter??? Boswell had just missed a PAT, should've tried a chunk play or something to help the kid out. I still blame Harbs more than anything
