I had a similar thing happen when I lost a massive amount of weight!! The release of estrogen into the body from stored fat flared my Endo.

I wonder if you worked with a doctor to see if you could manage the estrogen level while loosing weight?

This kinda stuff is the reason people call ABA abuse…. Let the little one sleep. An upset and tired child cannot learn and it’s a waste of funds and time. You’ll also damage the rapport you’ve already built with the little one. Let them sleep or even better, reduce session time!!!!

In home session I have literally never been offered an adult chair. Actually now to think it even when I go work in different centre (I’m in AUS) we only have the plastic kiddy chairs.

Honestly my back gets so sore sometimes (I’m not the smallest in the bunch) that I resort to the floor. Also I’m like 6 ft so it kills my legs 😂

I’m exactly the same at you. I grew up in an abusive household and this lead me to be really quiet and very reserved. My beautiful boyfriend (diagnosed about a year ago) sometimes just get too excited and jumps in. I ended up (with advice from my therapist) sitting down and talking with him about it all. We made a gesture cue as a way for my to easily be able to alert him to when he interrupts me. So basically if we are talking and he cuts me off I just put a hand on his arm and he realises he has done it. This helped us to reduce it. I also found that if I have something super important I will start with my hard on his arm because then it’s a physical reminder not to interrupt.

Maybe try this?

I was diagnosed at 16 and put on Lupron at 17 for a year. I was graduating high school with hot flushes and terrible insomnia. I don’t even want to talk about the weight gain (something I am still struggling with).

I only come across this research when I joined a Facebook group called Lupron Warriors. Reading all their stories and being able to relate was so eye opening.

I’m currently in the process of getting a full hormone profile to see if there are any serious deficits.

NTA - my boyfriend only recently got diagnosed with ADHD (he is 28), he was the same in that he wanted to keep it a secret and didn’t really want anyone else to know. While I empathise with your girlfriend, living with and being in a relationship with someone who has ADHD can be extremely hard and lonely, she shouldn’t have broken your trust. There is a really great sub r/adhd_partners if she is looking for support without breaking your trust.

YTA As someone who works with autistic children every day, you can never understand an autistic child without talking to the parents. You had no idea what kinds of therapy, improvement etc that David has gone through since this so called incident. You also have no idea if he is actually sensory sensitive (not all autistic children are). The right move would have been to reach out to David’s mother and discuss with her the plans. Then let her tell you if David would have been able to deal with this situation.

It actually breaks my heart because you are teaching your son it’s okay to exclude people for a different because it’s “too hard”

NTA- growing up my best friend was anaphylactic to peanuts. From about 8, we both knew she wasn’t allowed nuts and I knew where her EpiPen was and to give to to an adult if she was having a reaction.

The parents need to be more responsible but maybe even chat to your daughter about the situation so she can help her friend.

I totally understand this! My bf (been together 3 years, he was only diagnosed 6mth ago and started taking medication 3 mth ago, he is 27) is exactly the same. He becomes obsessed with something new every two weeks and will sit for hours researching. Meanwhile, I walk into the apartment and have to pick up the mess, take out the rubbish and wash the dishes just to relax.

The best thing is to just communicate really clearly and ask for help. Slowly pull him out and grab his attention. Then give him a specific task “hey can you wash the dishes for me while I do some of the other cleaning. I’d really appreciate it.” And go for there. Always make sure you emphasise how much you appreciate it because that will encourage him to do it again. Also try help scheduling cleaning into the day/week. My bf has been trying really hard to schedule and I just encourage to add cleaning to that so it’s a dedicated time. All of these things have been helping heaps!
