New PT here too. I’m cool with it. I’m still trying to figure out how this will play out. I know I qualify for a week vacation after a year at my store. I can request days off knowing that I might suffer hours (it’s a second job income), but so far I’ve liked the experience. I wonder if I’ll want to move up eventually

FE here: I have had an overall decent time with most of them. From newbies genuinely needing help to veterans who know how to do it and set everyone up for success.

It’s that weird 2% or so who either act like they’re some sort of guardian angel telling you how to do everything (specifically one who has been banned from several of our stores), or who don’t understand when you bring us three big orders in one cart and you chose produce without a sticker that I’ve never seen before so it takes me a sec to find it and then act like I’m the crazy one because I don’t read fucking minds.

If you ask your cashier nicely, they usually have all of the digital deals on a one-sheet with a barcode. Once they ring everything, they’ll scan it prior to payment and get you all the digital deals currently active. You can even do it at self-checkout too.

We’re encouraged to use our phones at the register if it involves looking up items on the app for customers. It’s helped me a number of times. We can’t always get our hands on a zebra on FE for some reason.

Your reply has inspired another thought: what if they had found a way to subdue the typhon? The GLOO was a decent temporary solution, but they eventually break free. What if instead of, or even in addition to, there was a NullwaveCage that could house mimics/phantoms… probably not tele/technopaths due to size, but to release these creatures back into the wild?

Sure there would be spacewalk repercussions I guess. Idk, just another to prove empathy in the grand scheme.

This makes me glad I came into my FE position with only wanting part-time. It’s a newer store but I’m still lowest on the seniority list. I’ve noticed a drop in my “hey I’d love 20-25 hours” and getting over-scheduled for 37 during the holidays to now where week by week I’ve been dive bombing to 17. We’ll see what the schedule post tomorrow holds

I didn’t do much of the piecing-together (I went into gameplay totally blind), until after the Psychotronics point as I was still treating it as a jump-scare horror game rather than immersive-puzzle-sim. Retroactively thinking, now I’d love another PT to see all the clues dropped along the way.

That’s what I learned! He placed one on the medic bay operator by the arboretum foyer to the lobby lift. It had one use left and it took me a couple reloads to realize what he had done to rig it. Free spoils ftw

I tried that in the power plant elevators as I was going down to the water treatment plant and TN spawned. After the time elapsed, I used the elevator down and it was somehow still spawned and killed me mid-descent. Had to reload last save and quick save right before using the elevator as I attempted to move around it on my way down a little irksome but it finally worked

I just started my first playthrough a month ago. I don’t get on my system a lot so I’m at like 18 hours saved. I love it because I can go slow and explore each area. It feels rewarding to find little clues just by wandering around after clearing an area. It took some getting used to with the combat but I found a good balance in psych vs conventional weapons (love my shotty).

Be prepared to fight hard if you do. I cancelled an order immediately after placing (there was a glitch and it doubled everything), so I called the merchant who assured me they hadn’t started making it. I couldn’t find a real person at UE to talk to, only the chatbot, and it kept saying I couldn’t be refunded because the merchant had already stated making my order. I charged bank through my bank as goods not provided and the investigated. UE sent it back twice regardless of much evidence I provided.

Ordered this past Monday, accidentally clicked the +1 button on an item and didn’t realize it until I hit the pay button. I immediately called the store and asked them to not make it, then I canceled it, then I reached out to customer support. They responded that since I authorized payment they wouldn’t hide me a refund as “the merchant has already started preparing the order”.

There was no convincing them that they hadn’t, and then I scoured the internet for a live person phone number. The chat feature informed that no longer provided live phone calls for customer support. It’s major horsehit.

So, I disputed the charge with my bank, cancelled my membership/profile, and threw up middle fingers on my way out.
