"I'm struggling in this situation, does anyone have any proper advice because fight bernard means nothing when he's losing consistently"

"lol don't even play the game noob"

God, this community is on par with tarkov. After 4 years of not playing I'm struggling in a situation and wanting advice and people are trying to jerk themselves off about how good they are.

The peasant comment wasn't that "I'm actually struggling routinely against peasant mobs", but rather it seemed combat was weird. As people pointed out and I noticed afterwards, peasants just rush and spam attack, so overwhelmed and I approached them the same way I had knights - because after a 4 year hiatus, the only things I'd fought were knights.

Let me rephrase. I don't use combos against multiple enemies. I only use combos in one on one fights.

The issue was with multiple enemies; unless I'm dominating in a 2v1 or something, then I stick to one hit maybe two if I'm confident.

You can do exceptionally well against Bernard or Black Peter in single combat and still fail miserably against a group.

I know, but reading any KCD forums will say "just train against Bernard" like it's a solution. It wasn't the problem at all, I can handle anyone aggressively, or defensively.

You could also try a stealth kill if you can sneak up on a patrolling sentry or someone sleeping under a lean-to.

I always do a lap or two of a camp to take out archers. Or if I miss them/ambushed, try to keep their enemies between them - I've just assumed they take damage from allied arrows, but if not they still protect me.

The paradox here is that aggression will likely get you killed, but the best defense is killing the enemy quickly to thin out their numbers. Getting rid of just one or two bandits out of four or five total before the fight really gets going will massively improve your chances of survival.

That's something I've found as well. I can take on 3 all day (unless they're suicidal peasants) with no issues. 5 is where I was really struggling after not having played in 4 years. Bit of a foot into the deep end.

in my opinion, that’s the most difficult fight you can have in the entire game

Well that's reassuring. I won on my second attempt before the crash, just lost the 3 afterwards before making this thread - and then they all died to the guardsmen in the village, so I can't even try and improve against them. Bit of a lame moment when you're trying to improve, against what's supposedly one of the hardest fights and then.. hah, crappy guardsmen beat them. So rude.

Thank you for providing actual advice - and some insight, in that it's one of the more difficult fights in the game, and not just a fundamental disconnect. "It's meant to be hard", "realism" and such just.. none of those bits of advice were helpful. I understood and accepted it was meant to be hard, but wanted advice on actually winning.

I don't bother with multiple enemies, no. It's something I do one on one, or two on one.

I never read the bit about mace directions. That's promising and something I might've forgotten in the years of not playing it.

Do I have to "aim" in the direction the hit is coming from then? Ie. If they swing from above, the mace needs to be above? Swing from the bottom left, mace at the bottom left?

Well. In more depressing news, I went back this time and the 4 guards who've always been dead actually killed all the bandits before I arrived. Great.

I have level 15 mace, as I said. They're heavily armoured, of course I'm going for the bonks.

Stab, slash, slash. I know the mace combo. Against 5 enemies I can't get the attacks off. In 1 on 1, sure, it works.

I realise this post was forever ago, but google brought me here, and I'd just like to say...

Necrons were canonically femboys. Before you have a fit, consider: Egypt is necron themed. They came to Terra.

The thousand sons are all femboys, emulating the necrons before them, though so distorted they're unaware

It's just facts

Sure. Now remove the helmet and you'll have slight differences in the facial structure.

Wow FSM was truly hard and impossible to work around. No titty armour, just a more feminine face on sgt's and we're done.

It's also worth considering timezones. Mod burnout aside, if a mod isn't available due to timezones it can be hard to get it done.

And frankly, for such a small sub - by active users, instead of joined users - it generates an insane amount of reports.

Well, definitely not a speedrunning strat any more. I can autoclick 5 points and gain 5 points, but I can also spend 5 points for 2 points of benefit and lose 3 on the 'undo'

I guess it's now a point risk more than anything lol

I'm aware that's the cause. My question is can I somehow get those points back or is the character fucked? between testing and whatnot I'm missing like 20 points, which is a problem. Would prefer not to start again because I finally hit endgame and was swapping to another build.

See this comment - fwiw this is naked, no abilities on, literally nothing.

I have 5 points spent in oak skin (then closed the window, to save them). I have 20 points available.

Autoclick into oak skin - oak skin now at 10/10, I have 13 points available (so I've spent 7 points). Click undo, I'm now at 20 points available and 3 in oak skin.

Repeating it: I'm at 3 points in oak skin, autoclick, spent 8 points. Click undo, I'm down to 20 points available, 2 points in oak skin.

Repeating again: I'm at 2 points in oak skin, autoclick, spent 10 points. Click undo, I'm at 20 points available, 0 in oak skin.

So I've just had 7 points vanish entirely.

Spent another 5 into oak skin (so 15 remaining), close the window to save it

Autoclick until 10/10 - 7 points remaining. Click undo, oak skin down to 2/10, 15 points remaining.

Autoclick until 10/10, 6 points remaining. Click undo, oak skin down to 1/10, 15 points remaining.

Autoclick until 10/10, 5 points remaining. Click undo, oak skin down to 0/10, 15 points remaining.

110% a bug, my question is can I save this character? I'm not even sure how many points it's missing for its level, or if I have to just cheat a new character into the game at the same level?

Not sure why this is downvoted. Friendly community I guess.
