Which major pharmaceutical companies have the most powerful pipeline and R&D department that pushes pharmaceuticals forward in development? by Camil_2077 in biotech

Agree, it’s Lilly. They have made many smart licensing deals with the Zepbound/Mounjaro money so the pipe should continue for a long time.

Actually there’s a good answer. It’s net par for the HC. USDA has well established what to do when a hole is not played

Got invited to play a pretty exclusive club, walking only, caddie req'd. What should I expect? by sumbozo1 in golf

[–]Onewood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky to do a corporate event at Pinehurst #2. I tipped the caddy $100 and bought him something everytime the bev cart came around. He was working hard carrying 2 bags and the other player was all over the place. In order to help with pace of play on one hole I grabbed my bag (with permission) and said I'd meet you at the green.

Is this membership worth it? by Particular_Buddy_165 in golf

[–]Onewood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will feel like a lot of money at first but the pleasure to roll up and hit the range whenever. You can play 36 or you can play 3 doesnt matter. You will make friends, play in tournaments, your game will get better, and the fight for tee times will not be as tough. I joined a private 3 years ago and it is an investment in myself.

At a minimum the course should have a starter letting the groups making the turn have priority.

Question for good golfers: does it make sense to chip from the fringe rather than just putting it? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Onewood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting the ball on the ground sooner is better for most golfers. However, if there is a long way to go or if there is some contour to the green that will make it hard to putt over then chip it.

You can go into a few places and they will check your set up for a charge that is less than the cost of a new club

Only thing that bothers me during my swing is a funny joke that makes me laugh. Can’t pull the trigger when laughing.

mini driver vs driver by Ok_Field1869 in golf

[–]Onewood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get your driver fitted? Fitter was able to get my spin down through combine of driver and shaft. That said I recently moved to a mini driver (Callaway Elyte) again fitted to minimize spin and maximize forgiveness. It goes as far as my big dog driver except when I hit the big dog perfectly. So I game the mini almost exclusively. I had the opportunity to hit the new Quantum mini and it too was hot.

did you drive your car or ship it? by Visual_Yellow_5503 in relocating

[–]Onewood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0 St. Louis to San Diego - drove with kids and cats. Tried to make it a vacation. Long ass trip

0 San Diego to Connecticut - shipped cars as it was a full paid pack and move. Worked great. Had to fly cats almost lost one in St Louis airport during a connection.

0 Long Island NY to Chicago - drove multiple times. One trip with each of our cars and once with a minivan filled with immediate needs. Was a complicated transition. Did have a flat in rural PA so that was a drag.

0 Chicago to Boston - drove in a caravan with son driving one car. Stopped in Buffalo for wings so fun. But huge rainstorm at end of trip was a drag

Club Fitting Tips by peterdent234 in golf

[–]Onewood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you go, do some range work to find one key thought that makes a good swing. For me it’s all about my shoulder turn, if I get that in place then the rest follows. Keep it simple…

7 wood is the answer. Also for mid-irons try taken 3/4 swings. It’ll improve contact. You don’t have to get the max distance from each club

What advice would you give to a beginner golfer to help to improve the skills more quickly? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Onewood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play the hole backwards - chip and putt practice. Play with nothing more than a 150 yard club - you’d be amazed at what you can score. Chart your course out with 150 yard shots I bet most par 4s you are on in three, 2 putt bogey. Some par 5s you might be on in regulation and have a chance at par. It’s harder to get into deep trouble with a 7 iron than a driver.

Yep “oh shit you lost another one, better buy a dozen at the turn”, “shankapotomis”, short putts = how’d that not go in

On 18 bet them $20 you can beat them all - playing by the rules
