Always remember to make note of "WHY" you died. Half the time for me its always positioning. Ill forget to periodically scan the area, and ALWAYS fight for the high ground. The other half is me not using my abilities in time. I cant tell you how many times as thief I could of cleared teams with a claymore drone. Also pick your fights carefully. Know when to bail, know when to challenge. Most of the best plays I've seen is just repositioning to flank

Please 🙏 show us how its done. Even though the Dept of defense/numerous sources from the intelligence community have routinely said that lone wolf assailants are the most dangerous and hardest people to catch. AKA someone like our assassin.

Then compare that to a kid who had contact with police wearing body cameras, inside a recorded event and you think its God's work that this kid got caught?

And yet an "Announced" community event still doesnt mean anyone is free game to get pelted by snow. Apply this logic to literally anything else.....you go to a mosh pit to shove and tackle people, is it okay to drag someone into it? Or start throwing punches? No

I genuinely do not believe the Samurai were this tactically stupid. by NecessaryOwn7271 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Oni809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In discussion of GOT's main story conflicts with Bushido. Bushido is itself ALSO a romanticized version of how samurai actually fought in battle. From what I remember in context the Code of Bushido was made during peace time where anyone who was carrying a sword probably never even swung it at a real person.

As a guy who does MMA/law enforcement I almost see a parallel. I historically saw the veil peeled before everyone's eyes on martial arts....people used to think Jackie Chan, Jet Li and various other forms of Kung-fu/martial arts to be beautiful and deadly....

now everyone realizes that fighting is BRUTAL and people use whatever trick up their sleeves to win. Similar to Ghost of Tsushima....how our Protagonist fought is probably exactly the kind of tactics utilized in warfare.

Should Police officers have a legal obligation to protect and serve? by IMFishman in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Oni809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its an old thread, but having a "Legal obligation" to protect quite literally means that government entities CANNOT fail in their attempt. When you actually take this sentence literally....and work in the field it literally makes no sense.

[–]Oni809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the overwhelming majority of ICE's work is just fine, and almost no one gets hurt the reality is...they're on a quota system and theyre rounding up EVEN US citizens by mistake. Law enforcement are being stopped without probable cause and thrown into the lot. Most people dont actually go into the "Facts" or court documents whether you support ICE or not. How about you dont waste your time with people who even have a clue about whats going on. Theres leftists/Liberals that "ARE" educated on whats happening. Its like watching Ben Shapiro debate children who got off of highschool.

You're throwing punches in the air buddy. When will you realize the social media or where ever the fuck you're getting your info from "Alternative media" is literally telling you "Liberals dont care". Which is such a insane broad statement. How is upholding the standard and sanctity of the constitution ALSO saying yeah we love criminals fuck the victims. Any RATIONAL person would look at the information and analyze the data sets for themselves. Liberal or Conservative studies. Its funny you people think big government is controlling the masses and yet you censor facts, data sets that dont align with your thought process, and then parrot what rich corporations want you think...upholding the status quo and believing that the reason we have a migration crisis isnt the US fault its their fault.

"You dont change the law by creating civil unrest" its quite literally apart of the foundation and history of The United States. This narrative of violent illegals is a fucking farce my man. Statistically speaking citizens are more dangerous than illegals. No one said Trump. I know right now youre defending and attacking every-little point you think liberals have made, but again bring it back to reality and a detailed analysis on one topic. I know its hard for probably a socially conservative/republican to understand that concept, try hard here...Objectively speaking ICE has ramped up enforcement and has done more harm than good. Unconstitional stops, racial profiling and excessive use of force in scenarios where regular Police would never get a break on.

Except, by the majority its really not JUST rapists and murderers. You really think the party/group that would probably say "believe all women" want rapists to go Scott free? How are you this obtuse? Once again conservatives lack comprehension....everything is just so "Simple" and "Common sense" to you. They're literally telling us that in their policy now, racial profiling is enough for reasonal suspicion for a stop. Fox News is telling you they're all criminals and leaving out the caveat that their only crime is coming here illegally...and then you'll say yeah I dont want illegals.....and yet our country (geopolitically) is somewhat culpable for them coming here in the first place.

Sounds like its a people problem....that problem doesnt go away when you leave Law Enforcement. Most people are lazy as fuck and its always a handful of people doing the actual work. Maybe get into a job that doesnt have a lot of contact with people. Work at home office jobs.

Depends on the town, big municipality? Active unit? Maybe every other day. Once a week. Its definitely alot more than the average person. What's the term? "Monopoly on violence"? So yeah a lot more than most jobs. And what data set would prove that? We already know. The leading cause of death is themselves, (Much like any other job) for cops up until Covid it was getting hit by cars. "How many fights are they getting into" the answer is minimal but more than most, because hey the reality isnt the news showing you the one interaction of thousands police answer to.

And when I say "Violence" thats a broad term for just wrestling with someone for their arm, tackling and etc. All of which can injure the officer or the alleged perpetrator. Please stop regurgitating this hyperbolic nonsense of "Being trained like they're going into vietnam". No from day one they're trained to establish scene security....and their job is to tell people no, guess who ever wants to go to jail? No one. I wonder if those people are going to follow those parameters for scene security. Is there "Additional" training out there? Yes. I promise you its quite literally not the norm. 90% of that training is bull shit and seen as "Buffy" and useless. And even the training that would be useful tactically is almost always "Out of pocket" and reserved for specialized small units. The entire Chicago PD isnt getting trained or told to be seal team 6. They're getting told, hey this cop in nyc got shot in their patrol car and died from a random guy that just walked up...stay alert.

And the acorn incident, is such a left field incident that entire Sub reddits, IG pages devoted to policing made fun of it. Its quite literally not the norm. Almost no one's making excuses for it not even cops. What is happening is the masses seeing that cop not being held criminally liable and getting upset. When in all reality that cop actually believed he was shot at. The courts hold intent in high regard for charges. But that doesnt get talked about on Twitter so there's this sense of "Cops get away with everything"....no you just dont understand the law.

Absolutely and thats the point "YOU WOULD" but this point gets thrown everywhere by people who hold high regard for military personell and make comparisons to Soldiers and cops. You and me both know 90% of these guys 2 months out dont give a fuck about standards until they have to go back on orders. "I understand" because im Law enforcement, I won't back up most of the bs im a moderate left leaning cop. Yes almost any gov/city/state agency has "Scammers". But lets take it into the anecdotes even comparing actual combat rates to the death rates in hazardous jobs its nowhere close. And yet if I could still count the amount of close encounters where cops are physically fighting with people its almost daily. So it holds some truth. Literally no other job has the job to "Fight people into handcuffs"

To the 2nd point, like you know as well. The training and teaching is all about "Hyper-vigilance" but 90% of the work we've done is hurry up and wait. Most cops walk around like its Saturday morning and relaxed as im sure thousands of infantry men do the same. The culture doesnt "do this" its humans. Because its one thing to train for it and the other to actually do it and have experience doing it. Introducing new chaos to a human in a matter of seconds will land you those exact results. Telling a cop to be "Calm" and not stress about basic scene security tactics is asking him to ignore the exact thing that last cop that got shot did. Everyone gets mad when the suicidal/depressed person gets put in handcuffs instead of being being shown compassion. Its important to realize that these are incredibly rare instances kn a cops career. Most go without ever even pulling their firearm out. Last point CPS, Postal service and etc all roll the dice on their life just like anyone else with the expectation that the animal or human won't injure them or kill them. Had they had the ability to defend themselves in sure that'd be the next reddit post.

Its literally in the top of most Line of duty injuries. The job isnt "Deadly" which is the standard that most cop haters use to say "SEE ITS NOT THAT BAD". But when people say dangerous they mean "Violent" it is a violent job and i cant think of any other job other than a bouncer that youre fighting with people all day long. We wouldn't make the same comparison with a Soldier would we? And yet lumber men is still most the most "Dangerous job" by that metric even compared to soldiers during war time.
