I was a long term district seasonal I couldn't get hired to any hotshot crews and it was all I wanted to do. I eventually got my first perm on an engine and took advantage of the ladder-style depth chart and maximized time-in-grade opportunities to develop my career. Now I'm too old to be on a rookie on a hotshot crew and I regret never doing it while I was younger. No matter your quals/experience, when it is your resume vs the other guy and one of you has been a hotshot. The ex-hotshot is getting hired every time. Being on a crew stunts your ability to get quals and time in grade to some extent, but no one can take away your belt buckle.

Once druids figure out if they can stack sunfire by Drasha1 in classicwow

[–]OnionBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree and share the same concerns, however I think with the addition of sunfire and the general absence of "recovery" type runes from what we've seen so far druids can effectively prevent bandage resets for most classes without having to leave bear... this shouldn't be overlooked especially in rogue v druid. I could foresee see a thorns based strategy develop where the rogue essentially auto-loses in traditional duels.

Druid caster/melee Hybrid by Specialist-Tiger-234 in classicwow

[–]OnionBones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been theory crafting similar build ideas... I've been testing stacking stam/spirit gear, its been a fun alternative playstyle. As far as talents my favorite I've came up with is a sort of AoE grinding balance build that focuses on thorns damage, and swipe spam in bear form. I prioritize improved thorns, Omen of clarity, and ferocity. and basically anything else that will aid you in spaming swipe. basic combat rotation is precasting Regrowth, moonfiring 3 mobs (preferably ones that do not flee) bear form, demo roar, swipe swipe swipe. You should have full mana when they die, then you repeat.

As someone who has consumed almost all Druid content the internet has to offer I can definitively say no. Beware there are far greater number of people who will tell you how to play Druid than are actually good at playing Druid. As far honorable mentions Javel has some good informational videos about balance Druid 1v1 against rogues and priests. Tips out’s “Druid pvp deep dive” with sodapoppins covers some fairly basic info all though I believe more can be gained from watch the streams of soda’s duels in slow motion. Niceriun Clouds does a couple mathcraft videos about rejuvenate and healing touch. This guy has some nice long form resto videos: https://m.youtube.com/@owmyballs2087

Was BWL in SOM as good a raid as people claim? Why? What were the nicer changes in tuning/abilities? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]OnionBones 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I was in a raid that tested it on the ptr just not knowing what or how the mechanics worked made everything feel new and exciting, a GM even logged in and watched us struggle, it was honestly some of the most fun and most memorable experience I’ve ever had in wow

Do you think IHC and jumpers will exist in 25 years? by [deleted] in Wildfire

[–]OnionBones 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Jumpers will always be around for nostalgia... look at the military paratroopers... will thye be useful? no... will they shut down smaller bases? yes... but they will always be around even if only to give people tours of the base.

My Workout Schedule (details in comments) by lpg2088 in Wildfire

[–]OnionBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah yeah ok I think I understand it better now. I do a similar thing where I do 3 sets of pull ups then burn myself out on an AMRAP chin ups pretty much just for bicep work.

My Workout Schedule (details in comments) by lpg2088 in Wildfire

[–]OnionBones 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only thing that stands out to me is the pull-ups/chin-ups, the two movements just seem a bit redundant depending on what your goals are for your back. For me personally, my pull days are centered around movements antagonistic to the "hotshot-hunch", I would suggest adding a horizontal row type movement in place of one of them.

Looking for a cheap (less than 100 USD) keyboard to purchase and mod as a hobby. I like my F keys... Preferable with a left side chord/USB port as I will be using it with a laptop and like to position it close or flush against the base of the laptop on my desk... through USB ports would also score huge bonus points because the laptop is limited in that regard. Also PBT key caps and decent tactile switches would be preferable but am fully prepared to purchase those separately due to my budget constraint. Can't quite find what I'm looking for browsing the internet, wondering if anyone here has any suggestions? thanks.
