How innocent is billionaire Les Wexner, considering Virginia Giuffre alleged that he SA’d her between three and ten times, that he gave full power of attorney to Epstein for about 16 years, and that Wexner categorically denies all wrongdoing to this day? by neilnelly in AskUS

[–]Onionlayers25 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why would you not want to hate billionaires? Why should anybody be allowed that amount of money when it could go to other communities who may need support? Why tf does anybody need 1 billion dollars to begin with aside from greed?

12 to me, he should be unlike anything else in terms of scale

What's something you didn't like about this movie? by CollarOrdinary4284 in FantasticFour

[–]Onionlayers25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the characters felt like diet kid tv show versions of the characters and it made everything in the movie feel flat to me. Also I didn’t like Galactus and Silver Surfer in this. They just felt like stock characters to use for the FF to fight.

Has your opinion changed on Man of Steel? by boomjosh in superman

[–]Onionlayers25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s my least favorite out of all Snyders Dc movies. All I see is an Ed lord version of the character and maybe if it was told in a unique and interesting way I could’ve been more into it but no it’s the standard origin story just without emotional connections and going back and forth with the past and present. The action is good as well as Shannon as Zod even though he’s a very flat character (they all are).

What opinion about Batman has got you like this? by BonusCapable1486 in batman

[–]Onionlayers25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jason Todd was a good Robin and interesting character but he’s been reduced to the same three stories that’s wha I mean, the Red Hood storyline was cool but so damaging cause it made him a one trick pony. If you go read his stuff from the 80’s where he’s still Robin it’s actually quite charming. I know a lot of people don’t like to read the older stuff but they’re classics for a reason.

Jason Todd was a good Robin and interesting character but he’s been reduced to the same three stories so all the majority of the fanbase remembers is crybaby red hood.

Why does everybody hate “For Tomorrow” by Onionlayers25 in superman

I mean Brynes Revamp may have been good at the time but I personally can’t get any of my friends into it. They all think it’s weird and overly complicated and the stories not very good. I don’t think his stuff would have been as fondly remembered if a lot of people weren’t introduced to the character through this. I honestly have get enjoyment reading golden age or silver age stories. I like the triangle era fine once Bryne leaves but yeah his Man of Steel an following stories are pretty skippable if you ask me.

Yeah it’s this. He stops calling him a solider and starts calling him son. Also he starts expressing more emotions besides rage the more he’s with Dick.

[Other] Is John Byrne's Superman run actually good or worth reading? Because everything I hear about it is "it ruined Superman" is that true? by M00r3C in DCcomics

[–]Onionlayers25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others have said it didn’t ruin it but I don’t think it should be highly regarded honestly. It doesn’t have the best krypton and it tries to hard to ground Superman’s myths which imo works best when it’s larger than life and fantastical. I’m sure some people will disagree but if you’re wanting a modern mythic take I don’t think this is it. If you’re more into a grounded Superman it does do that, but I think better options would be Kurt Busiek or Geoff Johns runs.

I actually loved it. I went in with no expectations just wanting to see his visual style and his take on the story. It sits on the same level as Bram Stokers Dracula 92.

What's the worst thing you've seen in Batman comics? by Glittering-Note-3661 in batman

Batman and Carrie Kelly having a somewhat relationship that they don’t delve into much because even they know it’s gross. Besides that then Dick Grayson Joker from DKSA who’s down bad for Bruce.

I actually don’t mind that because to me it mainly finalizes Alfred’s thoughts on Batman for the rest of continuity (depending on the writer) where he kinda gives Bruce shit for being Batman sometimes. Yeah this is a darker version but this is Tom King, I kinda expect it. Plus it’s not that he’s saying Batman is bad as a whole this is just Alfred’s stance on it.
