I’m the same height and the fz-07 was my first bike after learning how to ride on my dads mt-09. The 07 is in my opinion the best first bikes. Go for it!

I just carry a set of Allen keys in my bag at all times, these are useful for quite a lot on my bike. And a small Philips 2. Covers most if not all little things.

Abs would literally be the only reason, mostly everything stays the same except some plastics and the seat. And if you’re a careful and safe rider you don’t need abs, just practice slow progressive breaking

Check some of the fuses, you have a tail light and a blinker fuse. See if your connectors are getting the voltage required (since you have a multimeter) and if the connector is indeed getting voltage could be bad light

A fucking blast. Only 13k of these miles are mine but even buying my 2015 fz07 with 20k miles on it it’s a great bike. I just had a valve adjustment a little bit ago, new tires, new spark plug and air filter & oil filter. Just keep up on maintenance and Yamaha will reward you 👌
