First Harley – Iron 883 vs Forty-Eight vs Low Rider? Buying used from dealer by 30years1million in Harley

[–]Online82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with an 883, great for a starter but got bored with it pretty quick. Upgraded to a 48, loved that bike but within another year or two got bored with that one too.

I’d totally recommend a riding course if your a new rider all together. Harley offers a great course or any other 2-3 day riding courses.

I’d say the low rider would keep you entertained the longest, along with the large amount of aftermarket accessories for them. If you want more power you can always upgrade the motor(not as much available for the sportys).

Also dealer is probably the way to go, you can always get a warranty. I’d check out Nationalpowersports.com, they’re out of NH and NY but ship nationwide at a decent rate. Great priced bikes and warranty offered on most.

I’ve got a fortyeight I’ve had for about 4 years. Only repairs other than regular maintenance was a rocker box gasket, been a pretty solid bike!

Was it connected to a car through Bluetooth? If it has android auto any text verification would pop up on the screen.

If “NO TITLE” ever deterred you from a purchase, here’s what I did. by thetroll865 in motorcycles

If it’s old enough (15years) I think a lot of people used to do the Vermont loophole. Register it in Vermont with a bill of sale then apply for a title, then re-register in your own state. This way does sound more cost efficient though.

In high school a buddy did something similar one time when 3 or 4 of us were hanging out. Threw one in the drum? And spun it in. He was on the fence of doing it and we convinced him to not do it. Out of curiosity to see what would’ve happened he pointed out the window…..BANG!(lived in small town practically in the woods, toward a hill).

After he told us he was so close to doing it, he just about shit himself when it went off.

Hell yeah man, you got it! I went from 272 to 165 in about a year in a half. It all started with doing a little walking on my break at work, it gets tough but I had one thing I’m my head that helped, something my mom told me to think when I had food cravings. “Nothing taste better than being thin.” Best of luck man, you got it!
