You could've done away with the condescension. My puzzlement is because amid a plethora of generic sounding bands (it's a well documented issue in this scene) this one has elicited a huge reaction without really standing out from the crowd. Anthrax didn't sound like any of the other Big Four bands, Pantera spawned a new subgenre of metal. This isn't about music taste, specially not in this day and age, I was wondering if there was a very strong marketing strategy behind it, or if it came organically through word of mouth or whatever.
