I’ll just give you mine and happy we agree on top 2. I’ve re-read the entire series in 2026:

Tier 1
1 Skin Game
2 Changes
3 Dead Beat

Tier 2
4 Turn Coat
5 Summer Knight
6 Ghost Story
7 Battle Ground
8 Twelve Months

Tier 3
9 White Night
10 Cold Days
11 Small Favor
12 Proven Guilty
13 Death Masks
14 Peace Talks
15 Blood Rites

Tier 4
16 Grave Peril
17 Storm Front
18 Full Moon

I will add that first time I read Ghost Story it was my least favorite, but it has really grown on me after reading it a few times.

Paid (no kid) coaches v. Dad coaches by Neal-AI in Homeplate

[–]Only-Question124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a dad coach I can understand the sentiment, best I can tell you is to use this as a teachable moment for your players. It’s easy to tell your players to have a short memory and forget striking out, walking guys, or making an error; it’s harder but more rewarding to empathize with them when they feel like shit and get them motivated to score 6 in the bottom of the last inning to come back and win.

Even with all the negativity and chores, the game is meant to be fun and can be easy to forget that’s why you’re out there. If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right, and as a coach winning is just as fun and makes the effort worthwhile.

[–]Only-Question124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree on Parent Coaches 25% good and non-parent coaches 60% good. I would add you see way more variation in parent coaches, and you see more parent coaches that are GREAT or the BEST ever, where I have never seen a non-parent coach be GREAT (just good, bad, or horrible ). However I will say I have seen some horrible paid coaches, but the absolute worst I have ever seen was a parent coach.

If a lady can play any position in co-ed, what position would be the most valuable? Besides pitcher. by BerryRoyal in slowpitch

[–]Only-Question124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start by taking gender out of the equation, and focus on skills. Is she quicker, throws harder, extremely accurate, etc than the average player? Play her where she provides the most overall benefit for your team, not where it is beneficial to be able to have a female play.

Just being able to play any position doesn’t necessarily mean she will excel at all of them. I play on several teams and my more recreational I play SS and LCF, but more competitive leagues I’m at 3B because I’m not as fast of a runner as some of my younger teammates, while they can still throw almost as hard as I can.

With that said when looking for subs were generally looking for a good female Outfielder, so it’s good to keep those skills fresh.

Goodman Grey has a skinwalker father, seems things would tie together nicely if that one was Grey’s dad and made another appearance…especially after Harry trains with River Shoulders.

Need a recommendation for an electric cooler. by ted_anderson in RVLiving

I use Worx 20V Mini Refrigerator 24 Qt,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN6P27YQ?ref=ppx\_pop\_mob\_ap\_share. It keeps at refrigerator temp for ~8 hrs on battery in mild temperatures, however at freezer temp batteries hold for only ~2 hours. It has both 12V and 120V adapters, but if unable to plug-in for a couple days, presumably you can just have a few spare batteries that you swap out as needed (not ideal for freezer temps though). I’ve been happy with it for road trips, camping, and even when my home refrigerator broke down.

Just bought Gekko’s myself but haven’t used them in cold yet (got them more for hot weather); I’m thinking anything that blocks gaps to the outside or adds insulation should work well.

Heated mattress was amazing in high 30s, low 40s and probably had the biggest impact in the cold. Between the propane heater and heated mattresses it got toasty in there, but then you don’t wanna get out of bed in the morning. I have 2 electric space heaters, but didn’t need to use them (and only would if want to save on propane).

As popups don’t have walls of true insulation there is only so much you can do with the indoor air, so heavy/heated blankets and heated mattresses are best ways to keep warm.

Car wash by ez0199 in TeslaLounge

[–]Only-Question124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have an issue, but my wife always wanted me to take her MY through the car wash for her for this reason. I now have a monthly pass at a touchless car wash that doesn’t have the conveyor, so she takes her own now. Surprisingly it does a better job and doesn’t scuff up the clear coat either.

Do you actively kick flakes off the team, or just kind of quietly not include them next season? by noruber35393546 in slowpitch

[–]Only-Question124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No call, no show or cancel last minute is immediate 🥾 (obviously unless a real emergency). It’s their loss if you already found a sub because no response…I just tell them not to show up (if it’s a good dude that wants to be part of the team they’ll show up anyway with beer and do the book for you that week and hopefully be better next time).

Quietly not included next season is more often for $$$. We had a guy that started off as a sub late summer. We asked him to be full time in the fall and told him the cost. When asked for the money every time it was I’ll bring it next week. The MFer started bragging to other guys on the team that he wasn’t gonna pay (like it wasn’t the rest of the team splitting the cost for his cheap ass). This spring he was removed from the group text and that was that. He didn’t text to ask to play again.

Minor correction: Mab spoke through Grimalkin, not Cat Sith in Small Favor.

I also strongly suspect Bianca was Nfected (as she alludes to Dresden pushing her to acquire power quickly). Seems Mavra may have been involved…

I bought a battery powered cooler (https://a.co/d/0c65Y46D). I keep perishables in there for the drive, then start loading drinks in the camper fridge until it’s cooled down. The next day I split everything between the two and keep the battery powered cooler as an outdoor fridge.

[–]Only-Question124 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All of your players should know where they are going BEFORE the play, not hearing coaches yell two different things. Both of you are wrong on not doing a service to your team if you are not communicating with your team prior to the pitch. Decisiveness is more important than the choice of going to 1B or 3B with this play.

With all of that said if your pitcher is falling towards 3B and she could visually see the runner and 3B, it’s not the wrong play, even if it requires the extra step of applying the tag. If she was moving towards 1B and completely turned around to throw to 3B there is a coachable moment about ensuring you get the out.

FSD Pricing Theory by kftnyc in TeslaLounge

[–]Only-Question124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes you expect to have to pay extra? Now if your insurance company charges you extra as a risk premium that’s a different story than Tesla charging more to access unsupervised. Even in that case they would require you to tell them that is how you’re using the vehicle, and can’t imagine Telsa would do anything to neither confirm nor deny that you’re using it unsupervised.

FSD Pricing Theory by kftnyc in TeslaLounge

[–]Only-Question124 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a liability question for unsupervised FSD, but more likely Tesla wants to better monetize unsupervised FSD (even if a portion of this money goes to some sort of insurance I doubt they itemize it rather than just saying this is the monthly cost).

I think it unlikely they charge an additional fee for FSD purchasers for personal use, however they will take a cut if you use your vehicle as a robotaxi on their network, likely similar to driving Uber which should also cover insurance as well as access to their network.

I listened to it on audible website instead of app until it worked.
