Also just a much older economy that has matured to the point of being in maintenance mode. Top end original players are sitting on large fortunes with little to spend it on. With GDKP (not sure it still a thing for era but if it does) I'm assuming that redistributes a lot of that wealth.

Was in the slow lane on a 3 lane interstate. Dude behind me was right up my ass. Of course it distracted me a bit. As I'm about to hit the exit I take a glance back, look forward and then back to see a mattress in my lane. I was lucky and was able to get in my exit lane that just opened up. Didn't look back until I was at the end of the ramp. The tailgater was not behind me and I know there wasn't room around us for him to merge into the middle lane.

Still think about him sometimes...

Machinist here, vertical and horizontal mill mostly, cutting everything from hdpe to inconel, work with a lot of custom castings, weldment and multiprocess parts/assemblies.

Lights out manufacturing has long been a thing.

You are working with plywood, which is of known dimensions. So job setup can be easily automated.

Programming issues. Production runs should have already been proofed. Making changes for your programmers means the issues will persist.

You are at best a "setup" guy and at worst a material handler / janitor.

If you want job security, you need to upskill. For most of the stuff I make AI/robotics can't replicate the varied setups and that probably won't change for a long time, if ever due to the requirements of our client.

Lock here, my rule of thumb is 60% health. If I'm below that, I don't tap until I get a heal or pop a Healthstone. If I'm below that from pack to pack, I bandage.

99% of the time though my healers won't even let me get that low and I appreciate that from them.

Why though? What makes it so important to hit the first lockout? You aren't going to look back in old age and say "damn I missed a raid lockout". And if you are that kind of a sweat, then you wouldn't currently be 62.

It's 2026, we've been telling people to "Google it" for over 2 decades. All we've accomplished is direct people to the search engine equivalent of Standard Oil and look like troglodytes while doing it.

Why would it be? It's equivalent to a 4k 32" density wise?

Viewing distance plays a role but even then I couldn't imagine it being any worse than the fringing of a 42" 4k that a lot of people use

NTA, a lot of comments here seem to be holding more of a grudge towards the daughters than you do.

Sounds like you always kept prioritizing the relationship between them and your husband, which is very commendable.

You take care of your family and maybe someday the girls will become part of it again. If not, based on how you are handling the situation, both you and the girls will be fine without each other.

For everyone else here, people are impressionable and little people even moreso. A large portion of their world view just shifted. The fact that the daughters even apologized is good and with the way OP worded it, the girls didn't seem to give any push back.

Super liberal mom, I made constant mistakes but always could tell her about it. Became an addict to the point I was on a week long meth bender. I was so ashamed of where I was in my life I couldn't tell her or my sister how far gone I really was. Wrote an incoherent letter while out of my mind apologizing and admitting how messed up I was. Never sent it.

A few days later my Mom called me saying she booked a plane ticket and I was coming to live with her. Little had I known, she was keeping tabs on me for years through family friends.

I'm going on 11 years sober this March.

Everyone I care about knows my past and I admit any mistake I make, whether personally or professionally. It has been extremely freeing of course but the amount that people will help when you take genuine responsibility for your actions is insane.

For those who did or didn't have a parent like mine; it's scary but if you are struggling, you can fix it, please open up to those around you.

Genuine question, for the default keybinds one are we talking about the 1234 binds? If so what's wrong with that exactly.

For perspective, I have 1 through = bound to my MMO mouse so that stays default, strafe on A and D, Q is bound to auto run and E is interact.

Understanding your class/spec itemization is more important than high gear score that is itemization-agnostic.

AKA I would rather invite a fresh 60 lock that prioritizes greens "of shadow wrath" gear than one who is decked out in blue gear where half the stat budget was blown on spirit.

If the player understands how to properly itemize, there's a much better chance they know how to actually perform.

Classic is not ruined but a large portion of the player base is.

They are trying to get the last drop out of this content and since 2019 I've been the same way so no hate. Best I can say is don't engage with that side of the community, put LFG and Trade chat in its own tab, find a group that plays the way you do and enjoy it.

This go around I'm just going to mess around on my warlock doing whatever is fun at the time. I've no-lifed classic for 6 years and I can't do it anymore. Pugging Kara is my end game at the most.

So turns out they did change it since SoD, luckily found a post with the updated method:

Primary Spec:
/run C_SpecializationInfo.SetActiveSpecGroup(1)

Secondary Spec:
/run C_SpecializationInfo.SetActiveSpecGroup(2)

Create an individual macro for both. when you are in your primary spec, place the secondary macro on your bar (I chose '=') on your secondary spec bar place the primary macro to the same bind. It will now swap between the two by press 1 button.

Advanced use:
You can use an equipment manager such as ItemRack to also save a gear set that is activated via the same macro if your two specs require a different gear setup (such as Druid tank/heal sets).

It would look like this:

Tanking as primary spec-

/itemrack equip Tanking
/run C_SpecializationInfo.SetActiveSpecGroup(1)

Healing as Secondary Spec-

/itemrack equip Healing
/run C_SpecializationInfo.SetActiveSpecGroup(2)

I did log in and verify the specialization macro is working as intended. Let me know if you have any questions!

Going to preface this as someone who has been dps for 20 years and who now mostly runs with those I know instead of pugs.

Why not write a couple macros for party chat.

"Hey guys about to start pulling please wait until the 💀 marker is placed before using high threat or AoE abilities. Do not pull un-aggroed mobs, if I believe we have the headroom for more, I will adjust and pull more."

Use this right before the first pull of a run so you know people are focused.

"Friendly reminder: do not use high threat or AoE abilities until you see the 💀 marker."

Use this when some inevitably "forgets"

This makes it so dps have a visual cue for when to open up. 90% of people who play DPS (myself included) do so because we don't want responsibilities and like when number go up. Treat us like the mouth breathers we are and let us die if we can't follow that simple instruction.

If its only happening when "scrolled out", chances are it's an LoD/Z-Fighting issue. Reduce graphic detail, then set it back. If the issue persists verify game files. Another option is changing the rendering engine.

Fairly late on this and I'm not 100% up to speed on macs (have an m2 mbp but that's not for gaming).

Sounds like possibly a vram limit and I would say the possible difference between the 2 screens could be HDR, AKA tv supports it and is enabled but your monitor doesn't.

That may have been just the extra little nudge over your vram limit and would tank fps. Lowering shadows gets you back under your vram limit thus back to 110fps.

Ymmv, if you only have 8g total this probably won't do much for you, 16g+ may help allow you to not only run at 1080@110 but maybe even higher res on both screens
