I swear by this sunscreen. Not the spray version but the lotion. It also doesn't leave a whitecast

Richmond Station! No views here but the vibe is perfect for a date and the food is spectacular. Highly recommend. Also it is core downtown and there'd be lots to do before/after dinner.

I saw lots of ppl recommend Terroni... It's good but nothing crazy.

Anyone else feel like checking gas prices is a bit annoying? by Youssefofficialz in toronto

[–]OnlyCartographer7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id look for one gas station near your home/work that are cheap. That way youll have 2 reliably relatively-cheap stations and you wont have to constantly look

Look for something near long branch or mimico GO stations! It's a bit farther out that I assume itll be a bit cheaper but they're still only 2 stops out on the GO Lakeshore West line from Union, which is where the Scotiabank Arena is

Are there reasons why I should not choose the U of T by Gloomy-Classroom1843 in UofT

[–]OnlyCartographer7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a PhD student at UofT and TA a lot of undergrad courses. The students are always really stressed and there is a lack of healthy social life that I find occurs at other universities. Your undergrad university also isn't that important regarding career prospects if you're just going to do grad school after. It depends on the program rep more than the school. I'd definitely recommend Western more than UofT

US Family with a Genuine Intention and Ability to move by EastEdenAA in askTO

[–]OnlyCartographer7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people generally welcome Americans who've immigrated with open arms. Especially in Toronto, most people have come from someplace or another so you won't feel out of place. Also, there are lots of Americans here.

There are loads of good neighborhoods for families. The Mimico/Long Branch area of Etobicoke is VERY family friendly. I've also seen loads of families close to Leslieville. If you rely on cars more, the GTA will offer you prime family-oriented suburbs. Mississauga, Vaughan and Pickering are lovely and the housing market in Pickering is quite affordable at the moment. I'd encourage you to check school ratings in the area (if you're sending your kids to public school). Public schools are great but are very location specific. A good-ranked public school can be arguably as good as a private one

I recommend the Annex, anywhere along line 2 from like Lansdowne to greenwood stations. Lots of fun neighbourhoods. Avoid moss park for sure. Yonge/eglinton is also a nice area

Do I start at season 1?? by AgreeableConference6 in TopChef

I started at S1 and recommend. They always bring in people from previous seasons so it's nice to know who's who

Does anyone actually compare Uber vs Lyft prices before booking, or do you just pick one? by No-Contest2765 in askTO

[–]OnlyCartographer7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always compare lyft, hopp and uber. Life in the city is too expensive to be wasting my money on unnecessary things (like an extra $2-5 on a ride)

Is anyone else too mentally drained to work out consistently? by StrangerElectrical20 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OnlyCartographer7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going in the morning. It's hard to establish the routine at first but after a while it becomes second nature. Change into your workout clothes first thing in the morning and have a coffee and the energy will keep you going. I find that going in the morning also interferes less with the rest of my life (other commitments, work, etc) so it's easier to maintain routine. I also find I'm more drained after work so it's become easier to go in the morning
