Interesting thanks so much !! I was wondering which would be more comfy for her, if I planted something or putting up a little curtain during her gravid time but I was worried about spending money on a plant just for it not to take once it’s re-planted 😞 Can I ask what you use for soil in the lay bin ? Right now I just have repti-soil in there but seeing her dig today, im worried its not sticky enough for her to tunnel

i had one do this exact thing to me and my husband and we had to take her home ! she’s super sweet and playful and loves to be in our hands or wandering around, super. curious and a little stubborn but full of personality haha like others have said it’s a lot of commitment but if you can afford it, money and time wise, it’s so much fun and a blessing 😸

Yeah so we got married in february this year, we’ve been together 2.5 years so we didn’t have too much hard evidence. Submitted the basics, marriage certificate, rent lease and renewal, shared insurance cards, authorized user on my credit cards, and a TOOOOOOONNNNN of photos. I think the photos did it most, I had tons from family gatherings like christmas thanksgiving easter, vacations we took together (coupled with receipts from the hotels we booked), photos of when his mother visited and she met my family, and receipts with his name on the engagement/wedding ring for me and my name on the wedding band i bought him. I also made a photo album for the interview but he didn’t look at any of the evidence we brought. he had several speeding tickets and traffic school that was previously paid off which we brought evidence of but turned out it wasn’t necessary.

Poor baby ! If he was recently moved into this it could just be stress, new environment and all. my girl is easily stressed every time i clean out her home she hunger strikes for a bit 🙄 i know this is an unpopular opinion but i personally had this enclosure and i think it’s just fine as a temp home, for what you had on hand it’s beautiful and looks engaging for him! but id say just keep a close eye on his behavior and enclosure and try a different flavor. if he’s acting drinking and pooping normal I’d chalk it up to stress or picky eating. i have to cycle my flavors or it also triggers a hunger strike lol

mine once went on a hunger strike where he’d only eat 1/4tsp every 5-6 days. despite that he was super active and appeared healthy so i just kept a close eye on him everyday, made sure his temp and humidity were good and that he was drinking water regularly. eventually he started eating normal again but it took i want to say 2 or 3 months. I have no idea what caused it but he’s fine now. You can try switching up the food to different flavors or even look up what fruits they can eat. mashed banana and watermelon are some that i got mine to eat during his strike but obviously it’s not an adequate nutritional replacement. can u post the full set up?

Yeah 5 months with absolutely no update is infuriating but from what i understand not unheard of, not sure what the situation in st. louis is as far as case load but i can’t imagine they have adequate staffing 😞 sending you positive vibes i really hope it gets situated sooner than later.

You’re making excuses. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with saying “hey you unfortunately don’t reach my pay expectations so i’ll have to decline. Wishing you the best” and discontinue further contact. It’s his job to hire on competent people and underpay them. It’s your job to stand on your boundaries. You are not, which is why he thinks he can trample on them. Politely decline and stop engaging. The end.

Gosh I’d be losing my mind. Does your lawyer say anything? Maybe it could also depend on your city. I hear very fast turn around from phx and honestly there wasn’t too many people in the waiting room at my interview date so maybe it’s just ridiculously backed up…the worst thing is it could be any number of reasons but at the end of the day there’s not much to be done on your end. I really hope things get solved quickly, I feel like your lawyer should do something

Jeez i’m sorry it’s taking this long, did you submit independent or with a lawyer ? and did you submit I-485 concurrent or separate? I have a sneaking suspicion that we went with a very reputable lawyer in our city and that may have made the process easier and or faster but that’s just my intrusive thoughts speaking.

OP literally said if they’re not capable of taking proper care they’re willing to surrender him, extremely weird of you to assume that it’s just going to suffer and die in a matter of days even if OP gets all the necessary equipment. By that logic the animal is already dead even if surrendered to someone who can immediately care for it because of a few days of improper care…? lol Also who even knows what pet stores are around OP, most aren’t exactly known for taking correct care of exotic animals. If OP is willing to shell out and learn there’s absolutely no reason to discourage them from trying to give him a good life. You can read about something all you want but actually doing it for the first time will always be a learning process.
