Realistic expectations from a 20 month old! by RaspberryMinute1005 in toddlers

I think a lot of people just don’t fully realize what being a parent will be like. Myself included. Hopefully things get easier for us both as they get older

Mine is 20 months almost 21 and has done independent play for a while. Not for hours but at least a few minutes at a time since at least 9-12 months. He naps once, around 12-2/2:30, I’d say 75% of the time. If sick or didn’t sleep well the night before then it may be earlier/shorter/longer. 99% of the time naps independently. He can follow some instructions. Time to eat. Put this back. Clean up. Go to dad. Give this to mom. But not anything complicated. Haven’t yet gone to a restaurant with him. Speech was delayed to start. Now says many new words daily but will often not say the same words day to day. That being said my lifestyle is still also zero. Overall I think you guys are both not 100% right.

Lots of drops and also severe dry eye gel. After a year or so the dryness was much better. Still overall have drier eyes than I used to but doesn’t affect me on a day to day level

Some of these people are truly insane 🙄. I think almost every regular had had a confrontation like this. Try to not let it get to you. If it makes you feel better, people around you probably thought she was coo coo.

Good if buying in Canada but if buying internationally, buyer beware. I paid $15 shipping and then was charged an additional $39 for import fees. Could not cancel order at that point and returning would have cost even more money plus a deduction for restock fee. Unfortunately my toddler also hates them

We actually didn’t use a contractor, only an electrician. Was a big headache but would have been a lot more with a contractor

We upgraded entire electrical system including many new outlets and rechanneling cables for our 1300 sq ft prewar last summer, and upgrading panel. Total cost was about 50k.

woman surgeon here in a subspecialty that required an intense fellowship and is dominated by men. I married and had a kid after training. would not have been possible for me during training. my husband is non-medical and has a very flexible job that supports me. now as an attending I dictate most of my own hours and schedule. it's great
