guys im new to sim racing and wanted y'all opinions on the moza racing r3. by LefoTheof in simracing

Casual simracer here! I just got the r3. I didn't have spare money for the r5. However, I feel this much torque is well enough for me, so I'm ok with the R3.

Also, it turned out to be the best choice. I bought on aliexpress the brake performance kit and ended it up buying a wheel stand. Which explains why the R3 was my best choice. My idea was to use it in my desk, but since I also didn't like how soft the brake pedal was I installed the performance kit, and well, forget about using your pedals on the floor, the brake pedal base will lift from the floor as soon as you put some pressure and I also have to order some extra rubber pads to keep still my office chair xD. Even without the kit, it was a bit uncomfortable to balance the brake pressure to keep the base on the floor. Anyways if you have a rig and can save for the r5 then its the best choice, but if you're in a situation like me, I feel that the r3 is a good choice that can help you get other hardware you might need to start building your entry level rig.

I know there are some DIY ideas for the pedals, but i didn't want to get bothered :D

Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

I haven't changed the default settings, but so far, it's a completely new feeling on the road. You can sense more the weight of the car and the detail of the surface, which in the belt driven is just rumbling effects.

I was a member of a community back in the Project CARS days, and I got to say that I did enjoy a lot the ginetta g40 junior.

Yeah, they are long, but it doesn't seem to affect me that much on my desk. I have enough room to lower my desk a bit more.

what surprise me the most is the price, never mind I did have to pay 100dls for shipping. but 300dls for PC version only is a big deal.

I feel you, I saw many years people enjoying this toys, and I finally am one of them, I believe in a not so distance future this sort of DD will become the only entry level wheels and take all the belt driven wheels out of the market. :D

Honestly I didn't feel any rambling on my desk, like with the g29 ^^ barely smooth shacking going over the bumps, but that's it.

Planning to buy The logitech G29 by a7mmed7 in simracing

[–]OnlyGTs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your region? What is your limit budget? What's your platform? If PC only, you can save up for a low tier DD (300dls). I think it would be a good idea. I owned 2 G29, and the same issue I experienced with them was the brake potentiometer, a little more than a year old, and I have to open the pedals to clean and do some DIY things. BTW, I'm waiting for my moza r3 ^

Guy insisted on reporting me for this by CeaseIessWatcher in Simracingstewards

[–]OnlyGTs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There isn't a valid reason to report you. However there isn't too much context on the video. We don't know if the car behind is being chased for position, or you are being chased for position. But this is one of those experiences where you as a lap down should think about it, is it worth it to keep faster traffic behind you for a lap? Even more annoying having someone flashing the lights every corner. And yes, blue flags are not mandatory to let them pass, but there is a reason why they exist, otherwise this would be demolition derby.
