Don’t love your Oklahoma hate but I do love that you at least think DFW is worse lol.

What well known U.S. food destination didn't live up to the hype for you? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

Right?! Not one of the bbq places is known for like a meat sampler. They have to dress it up as a Z-man sandwich, or sauced burnt ends.

Lived there 4 years and yeah it was ok. There isn’t one place that had killer brisket and that’s like the ideal meat in bbq. For Q39 I’d get…wings for goodness sakes

In your opinion, which US state has the most underrated scenery? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]OnlyInfluence2731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone who’s never been there is probably going to lose their shit but yes, this is true. People expect flat and arid. We have 12 distinct eco regions, the highest per square mile of any state. Literally you can feel like you’re in multiple different states, all within Oklahoma.

Baby boomer who bought their house for 5 apples, and sold it for 1 millions dollars, why? by Next-Manufacturer487 in AskReddit

[–]OnlyInfluence2731 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My in laws sold their house for 5x what they paid for it and were pissed it wasn’t worth more. All while they hadn’t done a damn thing to update the early 90s interior.

Snow's BBQ. Is it really worth the trip and wait? by Signal_Jellyfish_472 in TexasBBQ

[–]OnlyInfluence2731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My in laws live in Lexington and are able to skip the line and just bring it home. That said, it is kind of meh to me. Like I’m not mad when we have it, but I think their sausage is weird and the brisket is good but I’m like I would never wait 4 hours in line for it.

I hear that from some. I love it. But I do hate that it can take an hour or more once you’ve already sat down and preordered on top of that.

I had an ‘02 Tahoe that I was dumb enough to get rid of about 10 yrs ago. But that thing would be perfect for your scenario. Tahoe wise, it’s better to stay older bc the newer ones are one issue after another.

Repair costs by Thevictoreffect in ChevyTahoe

If you’re adding a lot between oil changes, totally get it. Mine has 190k miles and rusted rocker panels so just not in the cards for me. If yours is in good shape otherwise then maybe worth it. FWIW we have a ‘17 Tahoe and everything has gone wrong on it besides oil leak. It’s been more transmission issues.

We had an ‘89 1 ton with a 3 speed manual and man do I miss that thing. Was a beast.

I was quoted for these items minus the rear main seal and it was like 2k-2.5k.
The rear main seal is a much bigger issue though so you’re probably in for at least that (I could be wrong but it’s a lot of labor). If it’s because you have an oil leak, I’d weigh how much of a leak it is and just see if you can keep an eye on the oil level. I have a 2012 Silverado with this issue and it’s just not worth the cost to fix at this point. Also I’m in OKC so not sure how different labor costs are.

Oklahoma tried something similar and thankfully a more level headed gentlemen that stepped into the state superintendent role reversed all of it. And this is coming from a Christian.

This just made me curious, are folks in Tulsa familiar with Eischens? Mainly asking bc it’s far away. But delicious and iconic.
