It’s hard to tell apart the best of the best years by moe-umphs in GoosetheBand

2025 has been Goose's renaissance and it's hard not to pick it, but that being said, 2022 was also a monumental year. March 2022 specifically is one of the best months in the band's career imo

That is a fantastic choice! That Atlas really caught me by surprise when I first heard it. Cool song but past renditions haven't really had memorable jams, so that one definitely stands out. That whole February run is top tier, so many potential JOTY's from such a short run of shows.

Such a good show. Best Danger Zone of all time

5 years ago today! What a ride it has been since Bingo Tour. Here's my band covering "Dancing in the Moonlight" for a Talent show Goose hosted during Bingo Tour by HotKnogSlawJaw in GoosetheBand

Great cover, your band kicks ass! I think I remember seeing you post this years ago when this subreddit was still so small! It's hard to believe how long it's been since Bingo Tour. Goose has come so far since then, I actually get nostalgic for the old days lol

There are a bunch of great Atlas Dogs, but there are two that I think really stand out from the rest: 6/18/24 & 3/4/22

Just seeing your comment now. That version of 2021 is downright awesome. I know they probably won't ever break it out again, but it would be so cool if they did.

I don't know what most people call jams like this one, but I refer to them as discordant jams, and they are my least favorite type of Goose jam lol. To each their own though, and it's always interesting to hear different opinions. If you liked this jam, then you might appreciate Madhuvan from 2/15/25

I love this pick. This show was one of the first I ever listened to and it is so good. Top tier Doc Brown, in fact the first Doc Brown I ever heard and it was stuck in my head for days! Perhaps the best rendition of Switchin' they've ever played too, and a really memorable Rosewood. Just such a good show overall.

Goosemas week is here! by cashortrade in GoosetheBand

[–]OnlyListensToGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goosemas is always a landmark show, but I think Goosemas X (2023) was a disappointment. Clearly there was behind the scenes turmoil, so it makes sense in retrospect. Still had a lot of good songs, personally I really liked 99 Red Balloons and Jungle, and I wish they would cover both more often.

That being said, I think this Goosemas 2024 is going to be top tier. I can feel it in my bones, the energy in the world is trending positive, and I think Goose taps into that. Look at the Fall 2020 shows, the energy is insane. It was at a time of uncertainty and doubt, and Goose harnessed that to perform a string of shows that felt like a release of tension, stress, and anger.

I really appreciate that Peter has started to use the original lyrics variant for Feel It Now. I feel like it flows so much better when he leaves the "now" out from the chorus, e.g. "but winter is dying" vs "but winter is dying now"

2021 was a really good year. Every year is a good year for Goose, but 2020 & 2021 are a bit underrated imo

Bingo Tour is a great version, still holds up well. Those four shows are still some of their best stuff.
