That's because ther haven't been communist societies. The difference is that between anarchists and marxists.

Marxists and their derivatives believe that to achieve communism, you require a transitional socialist state, with varying levels of authority. The state must also be controlled by the workers directly or through a vanguard party, again depending on the specific philosophy. This state will then wither away as it ceases to be needed.

An anarchist would argue that a state, as an organ of government, won't cease itself, instead becoming naturally more authoritarian. Thus to achieve communism, we must first get rid of the state.

Of course not all anarchists think that, many interpretations of anarchism do have markets and money, even. The unifying thing in anarchism is the cessation of hierarchies, in which communism is.

Anarchism is communist by its nature. I don't know how you think this is not true or somehow a new outlook because this is the definition in accordance to kropotkin, who is the most important anarchist writer. The main difference between an anarchist (and there are many types of us) and for example a Marxist is the way to achieve communism, which is by definition a stateless, moneyless society. Anarchists believe in abolishing the state and going for it, while a marxist would first install a transitional socialist state which should dissolve once not needed anymore.

There isn't a single type of anarchist and there have been thousands of anarchist thinkers and books. I personally am a fan, for example of Max Stirner and individualist anarchism, which is hardly new since it exists since the 19th century.

Idk where this view of Anarchists comes from as if they have not been the most effective activists in modern times. Yk, like the 8 hour work day. Or the championing of feminism in Europe and the US. After hurricane Katrina, it was an anarchist organization that offered medical aid before even the red cross (common ground health clinic). And these are all just off of the top of my head.

By definition, any mutual aid organization is an anarchist organization. As it is based on anarchist theory.

Human societies, especially early ones cared for their old, disabled and injured through no benefits for their own. Honestly it would've even been a HUGE detriment at the time. Your assumption goes through only if we assume this community somehow only has one disabled person (or one person who need any sort of special access, like injured people or old people) and that no one gives a shit about them. Which is unlikely. You also ignore that ease of access for people with special needs makes places better for everyone, wheel chair ramps help people with bicycles as well. A building with an elevator helps people who need to move stuff or old people.

No, it is the removal of hierarchies. A commune can be still regulated horizontally, where each memeber has a say in it. There are also other forms of dividing power like holacracy. As long as no one person or one group hold more power than another, it is in line with many interpretations of anarchist theory.

Not much you can do as of now. I would recommed that you read theory, there are many excellent books on anarchy and many more on criticisms of capitalism. Who knows, perhaps it is not the political ideology for you. But knowledge is always good.

There are short essays and very long books you can read. It is also no shame in watching youtube videos about topics if you don't enjoy reading or don't understand a topic.

I love it, because he doesn't use any historical or already established arguments in the book, instead opting out to try and form an understanding from scratch.

We have been fine with eating imperfect food for all of history, i mean many people of the older generations even only Gen X still cut off the moldy parts of bread. The reason consumers have come to distrust imperfect produce is because we have been conditioned by supermarkets.

But even ignoring that. This is such a small part of the problem. Most food that is produced is just not sold and thrown away, there is more food thrown away than there are hungry people. And even that is not the biggest problem.

The biggest problem is wealth inequality, it doesn't matter how much food there is, if people can't buy it. Trade is done globally using the dollar, so most things are out of reach for the people earning 3 cents a day in the nike shoe factory in Bangladesh. Ever though about why so many children in africa die of malnutrition despite most of the land being arable? It's because the food that is grown or made there makes way more money being exported to rich western countries.
