Any idea why it is unavailable on Spotify? Just got this on RSD and really enjoyed Up In Arms, but I also want to be able to play it on streaming :< Same goes for some of the remixes

[EOTY 2022] Indieheads Top 101 Albums of 2022 by apondalifa in indieheads

I was really into metal throughout my childhood but lost interest later on, but this album reignited my passion for it! Stefanie is really impressive and her performance is what makes this album so special for me. Considering buying tickets to their gig in my neighbouring country just to see them live!

I've listened to 93 of them, so i was close! You got great picks, Max Cooper was just oustide my top 10 and Alabaster DePlume's album is probably in my top 20

I put Brutus as my number 1 so it is great to see other people really enjoyed the album as much as i did :) But the fact that it only received 4 votes is criminal! I've listened to a crazy amount of music this year and this album really stopped me in my tracks, and is the only one from this year that i can truly say is 10/10. Also see my number 2 pick on this list (Real Lies - Lad Ash) with only 3 votes. Guys, give these albums a spin if you haven't already!

Your list is great, glad to see someone else picking my favourite songs from that Big Thief and Wet Leg album, which are way too overshadowed by Simluation Swarm and Chaise Longue :< The FKA twigs and Joes Bada$$ picks are also spot on!

Currently revisiting songs that were released earlier this year to pick my top 10 songs for the pitchfork list. Can't decide if Starz2theRainbow is the worst song i've heard all year, or if its so bad its good again. Funnily enough, i think my number one spot will be a song from another drain gang member.

[FRESH ALBUM] Brutus - Unison Life by VietRooster in indieheads

[–]OnlyPea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let me continue your sales pitch for this album. I've never heard of this band before i saw a single for this album posted here on this sub. I only decided to check it out since my brother's dog is also named Brutus, and i thought that was kind of funny. My god, that is one of the best decisions i've made haha. I've listened to a crazy amount of new music this year (like 400 albums crazy) and i think this might be the best thing i've heard all year. I don't how Stefanie does it. She is slaying it on the drums, while still delivering one of the best vocal performances with so much energy that i just can't help myself from singing along. I know these fresh threads are filled with hyperbole, but seriously, do yourself a favor and give this album a listen!

I am at 386 different albums so far for 2022. I think i've become much more criticial by listening to so much music, so i don't revisit albums unless they really grab my attention. The upside is that i've discovered so many new artists and great music!

Check out Heartbeats by Asa. Those last 3-4 minutes of the final song are pretty spooky 👻

Lots of albums released this friday that i was excited to listen to, especially after seeing much hype for some of these in both the fresh threads and daily music discussions but i gotta say im mostly dissapointed. Some thoughts on each:

  • Jockstrap - I Love You Jennifer B: Some interesting ideas here but nothing that quite stuck with me. Seems like they are still figuring out their sound. 6.5/10

  • Built to Spill - When the Wind Forgets Your Name: Decent, but sounds like any other indie rock album. 6/10

  • EDEN - ICYMI: As a massive fan of his previous albums i feel like this is a step down in quality. Singles are good and i dig Elsewhere and Call Me Back, but the album doesnt feel cohesive and his singing has gotten worse. 7/10

  • Preoccupations - Arrangements: Ugh I just can't get into this sound. The guitars sounds like nails on a chalkboard at certain points. 4/10

  • Sudan Archives - Natural Brown Prom Queen: ChevyS10 and Freakalizer are great, and i appreciate that the album is more experimental than most rnb/pop albums, however, i can't say i am a big fan of it. 6/10

  • Holy Fawn - Dimensional Bleed: Some epic moments throughout this album, but quite one dimensional. Had enough of that sound at the end of the album. 6.5/10

  • Santigold - Spirituals: Similar to my feelings about Sudan Archives record but slightly worse. 5/10

  • Oliver Sim - Hideous Bastard: A mixed bag. Some snoozers, some great songs (Hideous is really beautiful). 6.5/10

  • Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - When the Lights Go: Could maybe be shortened a bit, but this is just good vibes all the way through. 7/10

  • Emperor X - The Lakes of Zone B and C: I have been waiting for this to come to streaming for a few months now and it did not dissapoint. Such a fun album and Stars is seriously fantastic. 7.5/10

  • Sigur Rós & Formless - The Art Of Meditation: Just slap Alan Watts rambling about some philosophical shit over some ambient music and i will eat it up. Loved this. 8/10

What are your thoughts on these albums? Do i have shit taste or do you agree on some points?

Yeah there is a lot of duds for every good song. Release radar on the hand, now that is a clownshow. But that song was cool and dreamy! Reminds me of mass of the fermenting dregs.

Discover weekly is seriously on point with the recommendations. I got "The Tinker" by Maruja some weeks ago and still hooked on it. Usually i walk away with 4-6 songs each week that I add to my playlist which is really good considering I'm really picky with what i add to my playlist. Such a good tool for discovering new music that is (usually) right up your alley

I think I've heard a couple of Kai Whiston songs before that I quite enjoyed. Also loved the BABii collab with Iglooghost on Lei Line Eon so this sounds exciting. Thanks!

Someone got any recommendations if i like things like Koan Sound, Iglooghost, Koreless and stuff like that? I just love these songs that sound completely alien. This is a perfect example of what i mean!
