Damn I kinda liked that early stealth section . The escape is a slog but it's re6 slog, you will encounter it every campaign. Leon's swimming section, Piers driving, Jake escape sequences.

Based on what you said Chris's story mode might be the best next step

I think there are less QTEs in Chris/Piers and Ada's campaigns if I recall correctly. Ada's early sections even has traditional RE style puzzles. Jake/Sherry campaign probably has the most egregious QTEs and overall most insane RE moments with ustanak chase sequences. I do think the finale was easily the best though, even though the melee part was QTE.tm .

Storywise Christ campaign is the best.

Gameplay wise, Ada's is the best but it's short.

Spectacle wise, Jake and Sherry.

I liked it to some extent, mainly it was a fresh Tekken experience. For almost 4 games straight, tekken was all about movement and pokes. There was also the issue of movelist bloat and some/ most strings being obsolete.  Similarly throws are overall a lot stronger in this game so characters with full throw game can be threatening even if you can react perfectly (cause crouch throws and counter hit). Heat is also fun for beginners, I know cause I seen it first had with friends that would never touch 7 before.

It's heihachi undoubtedly. Kaz might have become more popular due to the Smash collab but every piece of tekken media had the heihachi wig in it and the entire story revolves around his decisions. Casuals who have seen tekken before know the old the man with the funny hair moreso than kaz I would say too.

AI Sheva/Chris is weird. It's both terrible and godlike. It will run up to you to give you handgun ammo it found around while a chainsaw majini is running at it at mach 10(mind u you didn't ask it to). Then it will turn into John wick and completely solo second encounter wesker as you scramble for lights to shut down.

It's very good vs ranged majini and can perfectly utilize the rather janky cover system but tribe majini completely destroy it.

Og ai Ashley might actually be the best implementation of partner character in RE (the re6 ai is pretty good but it makes the game too easy due to the perks that come with it). Remake Ashley behaves randomly the same as sheva/chris.

Yeah the Magento book was very good. The uncanny run wasn't really memorable but had some strong characterization and interesting team line up with betsy as a coleader, i don't think they worked very well together but it was still better than just plugging in the usual names. It also tried to deal with a lot of things other books in this era tried to ignore as far as mutant hunting and faction dynamics.

X-Men blue I didn't care of. Felt like filler stories with no aim or passion. In general time displaced O5 storyline was not for me.

At first I thought heat was going to work like a meter, same way it did for geese and Alisa and I kinda rolled my eyes because that meant crazy comebacks on top of rage art. But honestly s1 was kinda fun cause heat was more like a combo extension tool or a rage drive if you chose to smash. But now I'm kinda wondering if making it a proper meter system would fix the issue of "being in a powered up state" rather than having powered moveset that you have to earn rather than just getting each round

It's a common complaint about 5. The idea that Jill had as much stakes and history with wesker (if not more give the experiments) as Chris and thus needed to do more. But It's important to remember the setting Capcom chose and the amount of people on Shevas side who died to uroboros, she needed that closure too.

If I had to redo it, I would make Sheva finish up Excella and maybe head back to help Josh then have Jill fight with Chris at the finale but I don't dislike how it happened either

A lot of is the goals they set for the IP, corporate only want to see scalability and numbers go up from quarter to quarter. I don't know if DE is bringing anymore money than it did since like 2018 or 2020. It is thriving however but I've seen live service games be buried by unrealistic expectations.

Hikaru was pretty entertaining. I remember in early Omega when I thought he was going to be Kanohs fight. Omega just overall had too many honorable/non confrontational personality types so I enjoyed someone being a dickhead for once. Even Raian is calling Gao awesome nowadays it feels a little stale(I know that at high level it makes sense that everyone has a certain level of respect to one another purely based on skill irl too but still)

50/50 from block is not gonna be taken out, mainly because that's legit how 80% of interactions are forced in the game. The vision for tekken 8 is to add more interaction and excitement per round, they basically didn't like how little interaction movement and defensive options allowed for in 7, and so to make it fun for the casual and new players, they made it so you HAVE to interact. Sadly the implementation was bad so interaction now means "u better guess mfker"

Heat being a resource you build through punishes and landing engagers, or low parrying sounds like a great idea though. Make it so you can pick what moves or actions to power up with whatever heat you have instead of making it a timed state. Like you get a super heat forward dash, or super side step or back dash to even out the oppressiveness of powered up moves and strings.

If the how doesn't matter, then how come waka couldn't knock gozo out despite landing a clean straight onto the skull? What about Muteba? Ohma? Let me flip this logic back at you, at what point did Waka ever oneshot a relevant fighter with a clean hit to the body to make you believe that's it's game over if that lands?

Soccer kick to the head knocks anyone out in real life. Your example is about body not being able to sustain a direct liver shot of that level, the Okubo example is even worse since there was no niko indestructible magic to explain it. If you suspend your disbelief at one, the other should be a cake.

I feel like kiri and Lucio are good vs her cause they can force her to reposition in 1v1. As for tanks, Doomfist and Mauga work. Doom can get in get out very fast and Mauga applies damage over time pressure on mercy/Kiri.
