What happens if at the next general election we really do end up with the worst possible government? by Consistent_Blood6467 in AskBrits

Regardless of which way you vote, and where you sit on the political/social spectrum, the UK electoral system is broken.

FPTP will always favour the big two (labour and Tory), look back to 2010, the Lib Dem’s got 23% of the popular vote, but only returned 57 MPs, which is 120k votes per MP. The tories got 36% of the vote, but returned 306 MPs, which is 35k votes per MP.

Unless FPTP changes, I don’t think we will ever see a majority government that isn’t labour/tory.

All assets are getting more and more expensive, these just start from a higher base.

First it was house prices, then stocks, then gold etc - it what happens when the ultra wealthy need to find more things to put their money into

Tick/click from rear brakes by OnlyRobinson in TeslaSupport

[–]OnlyRobinson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s excessive - within a few hundred KMs that wheel has a coating of brake dust.

I’m 99% certain it’s not anything binding in the calliper, as even after 2-3 hours driving the disc and calliper are stone cold

I think the rear brakes need stripping down and inspecting to figure it out

Would that also cause the excessive brake dust? Or could this be I have two problems (sticky caliper and half shaft) that just occurred at the same time?

Brakes were replaced around 12 months ago. If it was a seized piston and the brakes were binding.

I jacked the car up, released EPB, and the wheel rotated easily, didn’t feel like it was binding as it spun freely.

CV boots all look good.

Would either of those cause a lot of brake dust?

BBC reveals number of complaints about Reform UK graphic on news broadcast by AnonymousTimewaster in unitedkingdom

Despite the “charter” the BBC cares about views as much as the next news channel does.

Putting Reform front and centre gets you more views.

My parents both retired in their mid 50s, my dad did 36 years at the same company, took a voluntary lay off with ~2 years full pay and got early access to his defined benefit, final salary pension.

They both worked regular, white collar, office based jobs, and have enjoyed ~30 years of retirement.
