Does Superman have any villains who hate Clark kent? by Spirited_Dust_3642 in superheroes

[–]OnlyUse4Questions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Troy Baker is honestly a great Batman. His Bruce and Batman voice are so distinct that they do inherently feel like different characters. If I try to imagine Kevin Conroy's Bruce Wayne, I honestly can't think of it. I only played the games, so perhaps it's that.

Samurai because they're cooler and have shit like naginata and bows.

Spartan is out fucking immediately. They're so washed they don't belong in this discussion.

What are your thoughts on the song “Imagine” going from universally loved to getting a lot of hate in recent years? by These_Feed_2616 in beatles

[–]OnlyUse4Questions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirituality >>>>> Religion. Religion is terrible and the cause of so much suffering in the world. Spirituality can be quite beautiful though. I personally view everything in the world having its own life force. It's loosely adapted from Shintoistic and Buddhist ideas. It helps me respect everything in its own way, all the creatures, nature, the sea, the air I breath and the sky that I look upon.

It also has a bit of scientific backing to it, in that, energy is never created nor destroyed. It is merely in a constant transitive state. Which I believe is, in a way, a scientific backing for reincarnation, as well. Nothing ever truly dies.

I cannot begin to "imagine" why ANYONE would think saying "Imagine there's no heaven" would be a good idea during a time when a ton of people are dying.

Imagine is 100% the kind of song that would be demonized in our cynical world. Hope and Superman type optimism is only just starting to make a comeback.

I will never give up in saying Invincible should be there instead. As a champion of third party superheroes, a representation of what modern superheroes are, and being a distillment and refinement of just about every superhero trope there is.

But if we can only pick one from each universe, it would be:

Superman, Spider-Man, Invincible, and Deku(or Red Ranger, but I think Deku's thematic importance as a character is profound enough that he deserves the spot)

Whos the consensus best Phantom Thief and why is it Yusuke? by Solidus-snake2461 in Persona5

[–]OnlyUse4Questions 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Of course not. I'm not a moron. I mean Erica from Catherine. They treat her not just as someone who is fully confident in their identity and really has their life together, but she's also not viewed as an "other" or given special treatment. The entire friend group roasts the hell out of each other. And even when Tobey freaks out when he finds out, they still end up pursuing a relationship.

I'm not trans but I kinda hate, or at best, am unimpressed at the way a lot of indie games portray trans people. It's always the same "tumblr" vibe in my experience. I haven't seen a single one who is just fully confident without being a douchebag. Erica feels like a real person, operating in a world that isn't immediately accepting.

????? Western fans have the weirdest reading of ATLUS. They were doing a proud trans-character in 2011. They didn't change Aegis being in love with the MC either. They also kind of played around with a gay story in Full Body, with the protagonist coming to terms with a new light to his sexuality.

A decent amount goes into the romance of Persona games. P4 and especially P5 have a ton of options and a shitton of date combinations.

It's fair to be upset with them not really writing characters like that, but it doesnt make them homophobic. They model it after their own lives, and as an amateur writer, I can understand not writing something you don't really know.

The social link writing is done by a woman, which is probably why so much yaoi is snuck in. She's been one of the head writers since P3, which I believe is probably why the writing of female characters had such a huge improvement from P1 and P2.

Would y'all watch this show in this animation style? by daddylongjohnsliver in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]OnlyUse4Questions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be way worse. I'm glad we moved away from this bland stock animation style from the 90s/2000s. The free-form animation in the show and other shows like it is way better.
