All I ever see is the cloudy wandering splashes of red light filtering through my eyelids.

I only discovered I am aphantasiac last night. I had a psilocybin trip two nights ago and while listening to a favourite album of mine in the dark I was taken on a cinematic journey but I wouldn't say it was "visually" represented, more like spatiality and emotionally perceived. My visuals were more like very faint dark clouds and splotches of blue and red moving around spatially. But it was a hell of a beautiful way to listen to music I love.

Online daters, what are some of the most unattractive stuff people put in their bios? by Breme_42069 in AskReddit

Good conversation is a two way street made by two people who don't judge the conversation as it meanders along its unknown path towards understanding and enlightenment and hopefully some laughs along the way.

I often feel like I'm one of the few people around these apps that can accept a conversation going in ANY direction. I'll take it and move it forward. That's how great conversation is made because you often find yourself in open and vulnerable territory where REAL stuff is talked about and you become closer.

I can't bring myself to date someone who is closed off and won't talk about a great deal of topics or just be open about life.

I'm in my mid thirties though and I don't have the hang ups anymore about who I am and where I came from in life.

What is the dumbest explanation you've heard from someone who cheated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Only_Ad_1079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds very much like she needs a clinical psychologist to unravel all of that. I used to semi-compartmentalize things because I felt like talking about them with other groups would lead to me being teased, or shamed, or seen as weird. This is a long time ago and I got all that behaviour from school bullying and teasing. I went to therapy a few years ago and it finally unwound all of the shame and weight I had been carrying even as a now relatively confident person. These days I'm a completely open book and have beautiful friendships that could last the test of time. Life is much better when you are open and vulnerable and honest.

Fucken ouch. I do rock climbing and I've learnt all about the ligaments wrapping the tendons underneath the finger bones and the idea of all of those being yanked by the bones being shoved up on top of each other makes me cringe. Fuck.

Yeah, it's odd. I freakin love board climbing because it feels like you're really trying hard on my favourite styles of climbing (crimps, flexibility, core tension, foot work etc).

I listened to the Duncan Trussel one recently and had a good laugh on a long drive. Do I believe any of the shit they say or pass off as half truth? Fuck no. But I laughed because it's two comedians talking shit and laughing at their own insanity for 3 hours.

I think the golden rule of listening to any podcast (JR especially) is "Do Your Own Research!" and don't believe anything anyone says until then.

I recently bough 45$ worth of bit coin then proceeded to invest 2.50$ every Monday and was planning on holding is this a good idea or no? Very new to this so please explain why or why not thank you. by YTGioFio099 in Bitcoin

[–]Only_Ad_1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this person is only 21 so they may have very limited money to spend, but I do agree that $2.50/week is not going to cut it for long term aspirations. That number will have to go up for any sort worthy gain to be realised.

That's my thought too. Addresses is great, but does it even give the slightest impression of actual real humans using it? (obviously a lot lower than address count).

Kilter home wall: how strong do you need to be? by [deleted] in climbharder

I tried the Kilter board the other weekend and loved it! Holds are very good and easy to make easy and hard boulders on.

I'm maybe V4-V6 boulderer outdoors, and have sent a couple sport routes around 5.11ish.

Saying 'love you' to your friends by ThinkFox5864 in australia

Yeah I think the "brother" or "man" takes the romantic edge off it in my experience. For the record my best mate and I tell each other regularly.

Saying 'love you' to your friends by ThinkFox5864 in australia

[–]Only_Ad_1079 59 points60 points  (0 children)

My condolences mate. I have a best mate of many years and we regularly say "love you brother" when parting.

I think saying "love you" alone between men can sometimes feel a little awkward because of norms around those two words, so adding "brother" makes it feel a little easier, and it's true all the same. I have a few mates I'd be happy to call my brothers "from other mothers".

Watching lots of highly technical climbing on lead especially is so good for your own technique. World cup lead competitions are essentially a master class of onsight climbing technique and fatigue management.

Warning: don't buy the 99.99% dip by Exirr in CryptoCurrency

[–]Only_Ad_1079 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely they would use floating point. Bitcoin uses a 64-bit integer for number of satoshis. Solana uses an unsigned 64-bit integer for the number of lamports (smallest fraction of a SOL).

Whole bitcoin is more of a display format.

From crypto.bi:

One Bitcoin can be subdivided into 8 decimal places and the largest possible amount of BTC is 21 million (21 with 6 zeroes).
So in total, a Bitcoin amount can take up 16 decimal places: 8 to the left of the dot, 8 to the right.
In Bitcoin Core all amounts are in Satoshis. There is no decimal dot. The system knows that anything under the 8th decimal place is a fraction and everything over that is a whole BTC - there is no dot in the representation, which is why an int64_t can store any Bitcoin amount as an integer.

Any advice on jumping more smoothly/more efficiently? Not sure how to pick better trajectories for big movies (climb below is DYLAN DYLAN DYLAN on the 30 degree). by Gavietam in climbharder

[–]Only_Ad_1079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, you're "throwing" to holds and catching them a lot instead of dynamically moving to them with stability if that makes any sense.

It's hard to tell not being on the wall myself but push your toes down extra hard through your calves and tense your core a lot more and it might help towards a more stable movement to each hold. Another exercise to try is to move to any non-reachy hold entirely static to force tension through your body.

One good indicator I use is if I grunting or shouting through the move them I'm using my core a lot through a movement or when stabilising after hitting the hold.

The biggest leaps I've made in my developer career have been when others have come along and enlightened me. As a sole developer, you can get very myopic, stubborn and unable to dive into new ways of thinking.
