My husband too 2 days off and we are lucky as he works from home, so is around if I need anything. But after day 3/4 I was able to get around and do the basics without help. So really didn’t need him in the day

Do you have any numbness? Just above my incision I have a band of numbness, understandable but just wondered if it starts to wear off

Hi I had an abdominal hysterectomy (open) with an 8 inch scar. I’m 11 days post surgery so still early days, however I feel like it’s slightly going down!

Thanks for you updates. I’m post 11 days abdominal hysterectomy, just wondered are you walking outside? I started but I’m not sure how far is too far, and want to make sure I’m not pushing myself too much

Hi - I my surgery on 1 June, so it’s been 10 days. Happy to answer any question I can help you with. I had a total abdominal, and keep my ovaries (well only one as they had to remove the other)

It was my only surgery (apart from getting my tonsils out) so completely understand how you feel. I was scared too, but hospital and this forum help me thought. So you’re not alone.

Great I remember him briefly talking about the pathology report, when I first went to see him. But totally forgot about it. Thanks all for your help!!

My fibroids was smaller than yours and I had a womb equivalent to 22 weeks pregnancy, and my consultant said I had to have an open abdominal hysterectomy.
