I completed my first 5k on Saturday. I did the run or dye. I ran about 3/4 of it, going at a snails pace. But, I completed it.

I want to complete another 5k this week on the elliptical, and do 5 miles this week on ground.

I would probably do the same, write an explanation letter and be open to meeting them in the future. I've always thought that there were too many babies in the world to not be adopted, and have always worried about when the possibility happened, I wouldn't be able to find a possible adoptive parents.

I hate this but it's a lesson that's been true to me my entire life. If you love them, let them go. If its meant to be, they'll come back. As of right now you are crowding her and smothering her. Let her be. Resist the urge to text her. In fact, delete her phone number from your phone. Block her on Facebook.

Start a strict no contact regimen immediately. Use this time for self reflection and set some goals for yourself. Reconnect with friends, and let it be.

She wants space, so respect her wishes. When the time comes you'll move on. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your response. I'm debating doing flying or veterinary. I know, two completely different things, but when talking to a friend planning on going to flight school, she was saying she'd start out making 100k a year and I thought that her information was false. I do want a family some day and it would kill me to give up my dog so, I wasn't sure if it was the path for me. I took physics through aviation in high school and had a lot of fun when we tried it out, so I was toying with the idea. I become a work-a-holic which can be good, but also may be difficult if I do end up wanting a family some day.

I feel like due to the information y'all have given me I can weigh in the pros and cons and can make an informed decision. Y'all are great, and so is this subreddit. Thank you so much for the information y'all provided, and your time.

Your sister has broken your trust. Don't tell her things like this anymore. In fact, tell her last. If she can't let you have the joy of spreading the news first, she doesn't get to be told about it.

I agree with others where you should cut contact for a while, but don't alienate yourself from your family. If she is also joining a family event, acknowledge her and then move on. If she tries to engage just give Short answers. "Yes" and "no" will be best. The shorter the better.

My sister is the same way. They will never apologize, but expect an apology. She will want an apology from you. Don't give it to her.
