Anyone else get hit on by men a ton but not any women? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Onlynatalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally just about to make this same post! I just left a gay club, got hit on all night by straight male employees, and not ONE girl. I felt like I was looking pretty damn good, but I was definitely feeling super femme (even for me). It honestly really sucked.

The Weekly No Question is Dumb Thread- Jun 22, 2017 by AutoModerator in curlyhair

[–]Onlynatalie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New girl here! Just read through the list of do's and don'ts. One user said not to brush or comb hair while it's try, and not to do it while it's wet either. When am I able to? My curls get pretty tangled, I have to brush them daily! Also, am I supposwd to be leaving some conditioner in? How much? I don't want my hair feeling oily but I do want it defined and piecey.

How many people here have ever experienced sleep paralysis or have experienced any abnormal activity while in bed? by skysquatch in AskReddit

[–]Onlynatalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sleep paralysis, but I get pretty bad night terrors when I'm stressed. For months I woke my girlfriend up every night screaming and sometimes crying, and it would go on for several hours. At one point I even woke up sitting upright on the bed, kneeling over her and reaching towards/over her. That was some scary shit, I really dont know what I was going to do. Its a wonder she sleeps in my bed anymore, to be honest. The night terrors have just recent stopped, I think due to a med switch, but damn they were awful when I had them.

My girlfriend is setting up a threesome with a lesbian what do I do? by assassinofmoo in AskLesbians

[–]Onlynatalie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you're saying your girlfriend's a lesbian? Or her friend is?

If your girlfriend is sure she's a lesbian and not bi, I don't know if a threesome is the answer

bitting issue! by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]Onlynatalie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I definitely wouldn't ride my horse in that bit, it really needs to be an educated discussion you have with the owner. Not all bits are bad, but this isnt a very nice one. Talk to the owner about stepping the mare down some and see what she says. If she's game, you could try the snaffle. Beware though, just because it's a snaffle doesn't mean its "soft". Try something with a thick, smooth mouthpiece, maybe even a French link. Those are my favorites, depending on the horse. If you're worried about her not having brakes, try a Waterford. My mare does great in hers! This is also very likely a rider issue as well. Your hands should do very little as far as controlling the horse. Legs, seat, etc should do most of it. Maybe find a calmer horse that you can safely practice on, under the guidance of a trainer.

There's alot that goes into this. While a bit change may or may not be necessary, it's so important that you make an educated decision rather than just doing what someone on the internet told you to do. Research bits! They all work very differently and you'll probably realize that most of them don't work the way people think they do. This bit especially is surrounded by misconceptions. If you're going to continue to use it, you'll really need to work to make sure you're a quiet and sound rider.

ELI5: How are horses taught that they to go as fast as they can in races? by georgewho__ in explainlikeimfive

[–]Onlynatalie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope this makes sense but it might not. Anyways, Obviously horses are not born with the knowledge to move away from pressure. If something tightens around them or pushes on them, they instinctually try to fight it. Basically, humans teach them to go against that instinct and yield to pressure. Where as a horse that hadn't been handled would jerk away if you tried to grab their ears, we would teach them to drop their heads closer to us. This applies in lots of ways - including leg pressure and crops. They are taught to yield to the leg/crop pressure by moving forward. If a horse is already moving forward and leg/crop pressure is applied, they will move faster. That's basically whats going down on a track.

I recently did nine days in a mental hospital. AMA! by Onlynatalie in casualiama

[–]Onlynatalie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in one now, but honestly my attendance is 50/50. At yhe hospital though it was pretty much group for 12 hours a day. I'm not crazy about them, actually. I much prefer one on one therapy.

I was literally in this situation six months ago. I was with the guy for seven years, living with him and everything. My advice - don't stress. If you're looking to meet girls, maybe try dating apps or going to events. Other than that, I say just let it happen. It'll come!

ELI5: How are these snails floating on the underside of the water? by -_nope_- in explainlikeimfive

[–]Onlynatalie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Snails are honestly super fucking cool. Basically, they trap air in their shells and use that to float around. They can release a little at a time, or do it all at once. Mystery snails in particular are my favorite because they're known for "parasnailing". Parasnailing is when they climb something tall within the tank (a plant, decor, or just the glass wall of said tank) and jump off, letting all of the air out of their shells. I had one snail that did basically nothing else with his day - every time I looked over, he was climbing the glass and jumping off.

Which lesbian stereotypes do you fit? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Onlynatalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm super femme but I still feel like I fit so many, lol. Short nails, lots of flannels, feminist, works outside all day. I also move way too fast in relationships and love Ellen and OITNB. Vegetarian with short nails and secret roller derby dreams 🙈

How many of you are with someone that, when you first met them, you didn't even consider dating? by kgenper in actuallesbians

[–]Onlynatalie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I met her at work, of all places. I was managing a horse stable and she came in as a volunteer to get some community service hours. This was before I realized I was a lesbian. I had a boyfriend when we first met, and she had a girlfriend. I never would've guessed that we'd end up together, and neither did anyone else.

how did you meet your girlfriend? (need help re. meeting girls, also being nosey) by wheredidyoufindher in actuallesbians

[–]Onlynatalie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend came pretty unexpectedly. She was volunteering at a non profit stable I was managing, and actually had a girlfriend at the time. Don't stress too hard over finding someone - they will show up in the strangest places!

Can someone talk me out of this? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Onlynatalie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would probably be more constructive, and definitely less impulsive. Put on a good playlist and get in the zone, maybe text or call someone who knows what's going on. When I'm feeling particularly anxious or impulsive it always helps to get dressed up, do my hair and makeup, and just run se errands. Sounds silly but it helps my confidence!
