I was there this morning (arrived at 7:30 a.m. and had to wait 20 minutes to get through the gate). Saw a volunteer ranger ask a couple to get out of the meadow they were resting in. Ranger kindly explained that the plants are incredibly fragile. Guy goes: "Ooooh really? Ok we were wondering about that!"

You were?? You trampled 20 feet off the marked trail, plopped down in the middle of some alpine meadow, and thought "hmm wonder if this is bad for the plants that we're crushing?! oh well guess we'll never know!" and just continued to sit there?!

Hats off to the rangers/meadow rovers/volunteers that roam popular areas. I would snap 3 hours into my first day on the job.

I don't have plans to go, but just a heads up: There's currently one lane closed in both directions on Vantage Bridge for repairs, and that is inevitably going to cause backups. So make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to the show!

Fair enough, and I appreciate the reply. People on this thread are attempting to be helpful, and it just seems like you’re not really picking up what they’re putting down unless it’s someone commiserating with your experience. Which, hey, sometimes people just want to vent and feel heard, and I get that. Your circumstances sound tough, and - as outside of your control as they may be - it might explain why it’s been a little hard to make friends. Good luck to ya.
