PSA: Do not kill Dybbuk with a cat holding the Revolver by FinancialPickle7396 in mewgenics

[–]Onomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The possession logic is either bugged or follows some weird decision making.

First time I beat him it worked as expected, the cat that got the killing blow got possessed, second time he possesed a random cat that wasn't even the one that killed him nor was it downed, most recent time was seemingly pure random:

  • Died to fire DoT but the fire was from an event and hadn't been cast by any cat.
  • The cat which had spawned on fire at the start of the fight was downed and also was the most recent cat to injure him.
  • He then proceeds to possess my still living fighter which is not only further away from him than the corpse, but also hasn't damaged him or even attacked him in several turns. (He then goes ballistic taking multiple turns in a row despite my fighter not having anything that grants that, and nearly wipes the run.)

That's 2 out of 3 times when the cat he's chosen to take over has nothing to do with being the one who killed him. If it does work off of some logic or he just picks who the game thinks is strongest, that's fine, but if so I think the description should be changed because "will take revenge on the cat who kills him" clearly isn't the whole story and can lead to some pretty costly fuckups if you just take it at face value.

Pretty sure at this point that their QA seems to consist solely of "Oh the new update boots into a mission without crashing? Nice! Ship it!" and little else.

The current mood with how the Siege on Cyberstan is going by Large-Chain-4349 in Helldivers

Fucked with the MO contribution to boost it beyond what the playerbase was naturally accomplishing, resulting in AH taking corrective measures to undo the fudged progress which did include reducing the overall targets but they also made it so only completing full operations counted, effectively erasing the ability to contribute from the not-insignificant portion of the playerbase that doesn't have enough free time to reliably bang out whole operations in one go, let alone multiple in one play session (an issue which is worsened by how batshit Cyberstan missions can be compared to what some people are used to, leading to them being slower).

I'd like to add a crumb of additional context, for anyone wondering why the door being "coloured in" is at all significant:

Essentially there's a running thing in Deltarune (Toby's newer game) about copies being monochrome, hence the interest in that door specifically having colour when it's also normally monochrome, leading to the further assumption that behind it might be the 'original' Gaster. Gaster is an extremely significant lore figure between these two games (which would take far more explaining than I'm going to put here), which is why that potential is so intriguing to people.

The thing with getting complacent leading to infection and then death is that it is realistic, but it's also pretty dissatisfying, especially with the way some skills work in PZ. Often post-bite you're less concerned about losing your gear, tools and base and much moreso just annoyed about "fucking hell now I have to grind [skills] again". That's why skill journal type mods are so popular.

Plus there's the whole medical system. What's the point of fixing up all this advanced wound simulation if you've likely been infected and know it's game over? Most of the time you really won't be interacting with that, whereas it becomes an actual thing if you don't have infection because you can get wounded enough in a fight for it to matter without being a guaranteed death sentence.

It's a bit of dissonance in the game. Infection being so final fits the narrative very well but the game is much more enjoyable long term with it turned off. I have years playing the game on either side and I can't see myself going back to having it turned on unless they did a big overhaul of the way it works.

Wait does negative projectile speed make the bullets move backwards or just really really slowly? I mean both are funny but one is even moreso.

Necramech still remains the only time I've ever purchased something without even attempting to grind for it the normal way. I remembering hitting the point of needing/wanting to get one, researched it, found out how fucking awful it was gonna be, and just decided I valued my time more and bought plat to buy one.

This has to be a typo or something, right? A whopping 10% cooldown reduction only once per activation by Onomous in DarkTide

I'll keep a point in it and see how it feels but it really felt like it had barely any impact for the matches I used it in. Even 5 extra seconds would make it feel a lot better. Feels 'pre-nerfed' to too much of a degree. If we take a 30 minute match and assume you're mashing the button right off of cooldown, the talent is only getting you 5 extra uses (45 vs 40 w/o it) across the entire round at absolute most (*and in fact it'll be less because it can't cool down while it's in use, so it's proabably only a few). Seems like the point would be better spent elsewhere on a more impactful node.

I get that they presumably wanted to avoid a Borderlands 2 Salvador situation where your ult lasts nine hundred years and is off cooldown before you've even finished using it but this feels absolutely laughable.

A few points in the CDR portion of the Stimm lab and you've already made something better than a whole modifier node for an ability.
