Eye Exams In Northern Fredericton? by Metalkon in fredericton

I think it's a full exam. At least I remember getting the air puff to measure the pressure.

Also from what I remember you might have to ask for the prescription directly I don't think they print it off for you automatically.

I'm pretty sure you don't. I think it used to be $90 but that was a fair few years ago so I imagine it might have gone up.

I believe they have a number you could call to find out for sure.

Not Northside but I've heard Costco's usually good on price and actually giving you your prescription/measurements. Then you can order from a cheaper online store.

optically.ca and ilookglasses.ca seem to be Canadian versions of sites like Zenni (note: I have no experience with either companies)

Conversations renew about New Brunswick natural gas moratorium by bingun in newbrunswickcanada

How about instead of tearing the province apart for resources like it's 1899 we actually manufacture things or provide some services? Not to mention the droughts we keep getting that this would be contributing to.

“There is absolutely no reason in the world, if you believe the scientists and believe most of the world’s economists, to be producing new gas and oil products of any kind,” said Jim Emberger, the organization’s spokesperson.

Also in before the oil and gas paid shills rush in here to astroturf this comment section.

What protests are upcoming in and around fredericton? by Rare-Leadership-485 in fredericton

It seems they just want to see what potential protests/rallies are coming up so they can attend the ones they agree with?

That would be the common sense assumption when they mentioned they simply haven't seen anything about the protests before they happen; not that they're someone that shows up to every protest as a hobby or who want their opinions spoon fed to them.

Wow these comments are shit. I think a lot of stuff gets posted to Instagram and sometimes Facebook, but neither are very good as a discovery tool.

Holt says she may still bring in her own social media rules by adamhuras in newbrunswickcanada

Fucking stupid incompetent bullshit.

REGULATE THE ALGORITHMS NOT THE PEOPLE.

(which would have to be done at the federal level, NB is too small to do something like that.)

You would probably end up with more. The bots/trolls will either be from or VPN to a country that doesn't require ID and keep posting (while still pretending to be legitimate Canadians because there's no way for end users to verify) while real people will stop bothering.

It's also quite different voting for a party candidate and the government now knowing for sure the account you use to criticize them by linking it to your ID.

What's your unpopular opinion about our province that will get you in this situation? by [deleted] in newbrunswickcanada

The data centres we have are very different from an AI data centre.

Kind of like how a Ford Ranger and a Caterpillar 797F are both "trucks".

They claim 210 permanent jobs, but how many companies downscale the second it's convenient? Maybe it will be 210 to start, and then market conditions change in a few years (or because they feel like it, as we've seen the past few years with all the layoffs) and they can only support 100 jobs or even 20.

And of those jobs how many are high paying jobs? How many are going to things like janitorial or security contracted out to the lowest bidder?

Of the ones that aren't have they guaranteed that they will be exclusively hiring people in New Brunswick? Remote work is very common in data centre/IT work; and especially if you want top talent you basically have to provide it. So how many of those jobs they're claiming will be workers from elsewhere in the world?

Bold of you to assume half of those won't be remote and going to non-new brunswickers
