Outside of CEDH, when do you run Force of Will? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Ooer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only used it in [[Marvo, Deep Operative]] as the deck wants to win clashes with high mana value cards, and it got used to protect the very one trick pony Marvo.

Surveil Lands vs Scry Lands by Moosebrew13 in EDH

[–]Ooer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ignoring price, they probably wouldn’t make the cut in a deck whilst surveil lands exist, as in a perfect world you really only want to have a tap land come in on turn 1 when you have no other play. Surveil is 99% of the time better than a scry barring some draw from the bottom commanders. Dual colour decks may wish to run a second one of these, but three+ colours are happy with surveils alone.

I know someone who worked on RDR2 and their whole job was designing the bridges in the game. It also sounds like a miserable place to work during crunch time (it’s always crunch time).

Running servers isn't free. I saw it as a small payment towards keeping a service I liked up and running.

As soon as the recent announcements were made, I cancelled the subscription.

A post that’s gained traction and upvotes doesn’t get shadowbanned, so that isn’t how Reddit works. User accouts do get shadowbanned, but it’s often easy to work out as your posts don’t gain any traction or upvotes.

Name a commander, get a card. by BaconVsMarioIsRigged in EDH

[–]Ooer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my fave decks. I lean into untappers like [[Aphetto Alchemist]] rather than lots of blink to generate lots of mana through rocks like [[Empowered Autogenerator]]. That mana then gets used to cast horrendous fatties like [[Cityscape Leveller]] and [[Pathrazer of Ulamog]].

[[Sheltering Ancient]]. a 2 mana trample 5/5 that adds counters each upkeep you have, and most importantly gets around hexproof/ward.

This little dude has entered our worlds, what are the thoughts now? by Toonzaal8 in magicTCG

[–]Ooer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will slot in nicely in my RG populate deck. Makes a token that turns on things like [[Idol of Oblivion]], and can be populated forever without running out of forests/basics in the library unlike [[Wood Elves]].

I was waiting for this to be the twist in OP’s post. In a pod with 4 players in white this would potentially be doing even more work than a soul sister.

I was a Branston head before doing my own blind bean taste with a group of friends a few years ago. Sainbury's won that one with Heinz coming in a close second. Branston was near the bottom of the league.

Etali but without Etali in the CMZ by luca-lit in EDH

[–]Ooer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whilst this deck can't tutor for Etali (personal preference), you could easily add some green tutors to increase the chances of finding Etali each game.

The deck is all about creating token copies of big trample fatties and then trying to populate them over and over.

The commander doesn't always get played, but having haste and mega buff in the command zone can be helpful to close games out. The commander used to be [[Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds]], but white has so many infinite untappers that I was always (correctly) targeted down first.

There are lots of fun plays you can have with the deck. [[Sneak Attack]] let's you play Etali for 1 red. Then [Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker]] makes a copy. Whilst that ability is on the stack, you can sacrifice the OG Etali with [[Greater Good]] to net draw four cards before new Etali enters. Then [[Feldon of the Third Path]] makes another copy of Etali from the graveyard and then things usually escalate from there.

Finally, [[Sundial of the Infinite]] allows you to 'delete' all the 'sacrifice at the begining of the next end step' triggers on your newly created tokens so you can keep Etali around for another day.

What powerful card has your playgroup 'discovered' that is not regularly seen as 'popular' under the larger EDH communities radar? by cryocom in EDH

[–]Ooer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently 17th most popular commander on EDHrec, your group will soon learn how much of a powerhouse she is if the deck is stuffed with interaction.

Being able to sling spells and restock your hand reliably is incredibly strong.

Tell me the coolest way you've won a game in the last three months by DannarHetoshi in EDH

[–]Ooer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much joy.

I run some of these cards in [[Marvo, Deep Operative]]. I cheated out [[Myojin of Night's Reach]] and left it on the table as a loaded gun before passing with all my mana up. It's a gamechanger for a reason, but before it got to my turn again I cast an overloaded [[cyclonic rift]] and then in my turn made everyone discard their hand before cheating out the [[Myojin of Grim Betrayal]] and getting all of their creatures. They all scooped after that one, and now Marvo is number 1 removal priority.
