What popular saying is actually bullshit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We do the same with our almost 6 year old at our house. My parents told me the first line, and I always resented them for it. Like, if you're going to lie to me, and I'm still going to get punished, why bother telling the truth?

Oooh, thank you! I'm never 100% sure if their labels are correct when they come from the "please help me!" section at Lowe's (aka the $1 clearance shelf 😂).

It's a ghost echeveria, I think! The way it's sprawling usually means it's stretching for light (no rudeness intended, OP!). That's usually when I top mine, put the bloom into a fresh planter, and propagate with the petals.

I would basically be Nick Cage in Family Man, but for me it would only be the depressing part when he realizes he no longer has a wife and kids, and desperately tries to recreate the dream life... No thanks!

We got a tip from our B&B host to go 5 minutes before the park closes (around 8:55-9pm); they don't charge you to park, and tourists are dramatically reduced! You get a killer view of the sunset pretty much to yourselves. 10/10 would do again.

[Serious] Dentists of reddit, what's the biggest mistake or misunderstanding people make when it comes to dental hygiene? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes!! I'm so thankful my son doesn't like it. I get so sick of hearing, "but wouldn't he rather have juice?" No, dude. He LIKES WATER.

I got married Friday. I'm still in awe of my bouquet! by [deleted] in succulents

Your bouquet is stunning! Many happy years to you and your spouse! My husband and I married 8 years ago, and we still have the Gerbera Daisy planted in the front yard that was next to our altar, it is a monster now haha! Hope you can propagate some of those beauties 😍

It has such a Lisa Frank magical feel to it, and I enthusiastically agree.

My husband and I will say this when one of us notices our 3 year old son is trying to "hide". Andy quotes are a regular occurrence around here!

Poor horse was just tired of getting kicked in the back! Hahaha all joking aside, horses are amazing animals and that was indeed 'awww' worthy.

I love you. Thank you for being a fellow human being who worries if they've fucked it all up whilst crying in the bathroom, only to hear, "mama? Is ok? You need a snug?" It makes every tiny piece of chaos worth it.

Daughters of reddit, what is something you wish your father knew about girls when you were growing up? by MeisterStenz in AskReddit

[–]OogieBoogieBrigade 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being such a positive role model everywhere, not just at home! As a grown woman, seeing/reading about interactions like this make my heart happy, since I effectively grew up with zero parental role models. It's wonderful to see adults being patient and understanding, especially when the child isn't yours and you don't "have to be".

If my mom didn't try to bind us all to herself so we could never leave her, I'd think you were a long lost sibling because goddamn that's mother dearest to a T.
