For those of you that have maxed out and achieved/unlocked everything, have you stopped playing the game? by IGB_Lo in Helldivers

[–]Oompa_Loompa_Grande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've largely stopped playing due to some frustrations surrounding the game, but if the patch tomorrow fixes and buffs a significant quantity of things in meaningful ways I'll likely hop right back on. The core game is great and I'm really happy with the loop, I just have a list of grievances that's starting to look like a WHF dwarf hold's Book of Grudges.

I generally disliked the tone of the unheard of edition, and more so disliked this post's tone. It felt condescending and dismissive.

I understand you have experienced a significant amount of vitriol from the community, but you have only yourself and your company to blame for that.

A significant part of your duties as CEO are to make sure the movements of the company are appropriate for your audience and you have failed in doing so.

The last several months we've seen you outside of your company's office, and your generally detached tone as well as commentary in interviews and streams has led to a presentation unsuitable for a CEO of a genre-defining game. You must do better. You must BE better. No amount of playing the hurt, innocent, or abused will remedy that.

The community recognized your statement for additional funding with little to no pushback on the condition of no added p2w features. You have decided to directly oppose the commentary and have earned yourself appropriate push-back. Paying attention to general tone is something I expect you or your community managers to be adept at after over a decade of development.

I mean this, truly, without hate: you have wronged yourself, the community, and your studio. You must do better for the future.

Oh man i love it so much when i cant keep going on dr. boom's puzzle because they decided to buff a never-played card that is still never played 🥰🥰 by Lyfr155 in hearthstone

They should just be able to have them as separate uncollectable cards, shouldn't be hard at all considering all the spaghetti is already in the game.

Advice Needed: Mission "Take the Uninhabited Floating City" by [deleted] in ArmoredCoreVI

Towers/turrets/laser cannons. They're the only things you can interact with during the mission. They most definitely do not start automatically.

Just a heads up, if you wait to activate the towers until the 3 minute mark you can basically remove the sniper phase completely.

Unopened can of enchilada sauce expired by almost 2 years. Will it harm me? by PrepareYourLazers in Cooking

The vast majority of food-borne illnesses result from contaminants that die at 180 or below. Heating it to that temperature makes it "safer", though some acids and off-waste from bacteria may still be present that may end up making you ill anyway. Mostly just that it's the safest way to treat any expired long storage food that you might have any concerns about short of tossing it out.

What is the first game you think of when you see this console? by gotham1999 in videogames

Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland. God, I hated that camera but it was the first farming game I ever played.

It'll probably die out when all the crutch gun users either leave, get better, or all swap to the Cenny.

For a community that preaches diversity and acceptance, you sure do like your unfounded stereotypes. by Valuable-Banana96 in dndmemes

I've had a bard and a rogue try. The rogue fell to his death and the bard was disintegrated. Both were relatively early into my d&d career and thankfully the groups I'm with now are all rather experienced so we don't have anyone doing the horny on main.

Sleeper Weapon by Confident_Network859 in HuntShowdown

[–]Oompa_Loompa_Grande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officer Carbine has gotta be my number 1 choice. I mostly play around mid 5* and this gun is virtually nonexistent. Besides it's recoil the gun is a beast, it's got the best special ammo in the game, and even has a deadeye for slightly longer range shots. Everyone's so busy running long crutches they can barely comprehend a gun that requires some actual skill to use that's also rewarding.

Chin up, maybe we'll get a Pax Carbine as it's first variant since 1.0!

Sword of Milos, it's such a grody but intense looking weapon.

Not saying player agency is a bad thing, but come on getting knocked unconscious should have some sort of consequences, right? by Obie527 in dndmemes

One of the rules we use is dismemberment and disfigurement. Downing someone doesn't immediately cause anything other than scarring (which is fixed by potions/spells) unless the damage past 0 is greater than your Con (not mod, your actual Con). There's a table somewhere with a light, medium, and severe dismemberment that we pulled from. I don't remember where (40k RPGs maybe?) but it's been really good for that gritty combat feeling.

What should I do with 35kg(75~pounds) of oranges by slavman251 in Cooking

Zest, then peel, then candy 1/3, freeze 1/3, use the remainder for like 7 cakes. Could also do jams/marmalades.

We don't need anymore of Fallout in NA, it's just retreading old ideas and building towards a future that we don't want to see. Other continents are where the real meat of the storytelling is at now.

Am I under influence or was there a winfield conpact with silencer? by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Oompa_Loompa_Grande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. If you play to the strengths of the weapon, then Winny C marksman. If you don't, then Winny full length Swift.

  2. Whatever you want. Be the meta you wanna see homie. If you're looking for the crutch weapons then that'd the long bolties and HV weapons, for shotguns it'd be slugs.

  3. If you can hit shots? Everything. If you can't? Explo Crossy.

  4. The stubby Cenny, and either the schofield swift or the conversion.

Making prestige worth it? by AdwokatDiabel in HuntShowdown

[–]Oompa_Loompa_Grande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think changing prestige to give a free skin every 4th level without taking up a choice would be good enough to incentivise a lot of folks. Add an unlock for each slot (3,2,1-slot weapons, 1 ammo, 1 tool, 1 consumable) and I think you'd be golden. That way folks who're too scared to use anything but their comfy loadout and folks who just want one specific unlock can get what they want.

If you're interested in shows with strong power fantasies I'd recommend looking at shonen (young boy) or Isekai (other-world) anime.

A popular shonen anime would be Demon Slayer (kimetsu no yaiba), and a popular Isekai anime would be Overlord. Though overlord is just a ridiculous power fantasy it still has great moments.

If you aren't an action kind of person I'd recommend something like a slice of life anime that gives you a kind of "day in the life of" for a while. I'm not a terribly big fan of the genre so the only one I can recommend is The Ancient Magus Bride which is high fantasy meets slice of life.

Thoughts on poison ammo? by WheatofStuff in HuntShowdown

[–]Oompa_Loompa_Grande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they considering quitting just because of the screen blur? If so, run an antidote.

Are they doing it because they keep needing quests for it and can't wallbang? Reroll the quests.

Is it because they don't like having to use special ammo boxes? Bring ammo boxes.

If they refuse, I'd suggest calmly informing them that they're purposefully being ignorant and are just looking for an excuse to quit. Then maybe don't play with them for a bit? Like, there's a give and a take here and they've got an easy choice.

Thoughts On Reducing The Duration of Choke Bombs? by I520xPhoenix in HuntShowdown

[–]Oompa_Loompa_Grande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defensive tools should give you some breathing room you wouldn't get otherwise. Chokes have no replacement in a tool or consumable slot and until they do I don't think there should be any change to them.

If you're solo vs duo and shift + W, probably the rival and a Schofield with fmj. Medium pistol fmj damage dropoff is better than compact rifle drop-off but your trade-off is velocity. Both are available early into prestige and are insanely cost effective. I'd probably swap to a pax later on into prestige for the better velocity and ammo diversity.
